Michael Murphy is the artist behind Perceptual Art. He creates illusionary sculptures that form portraits of people, words, or objects, but that you can see only if you’re standing in the right place - otherwise, it just looks like a bunch of tangled wires or globs of plastic pieces.

My favorite ones have two vantage points. I see how he does it: He divides the first image into parts, then in the 3D software he individually moves each part back, staying perpendicular to the first image plane, at distances that draw a second image when viewed from a side plane. He can also get creative with the shapes of each part. Very clever!

This is mind-blowing art at its finest the level of artistry and time and dedication that goes into these art pieces is phenomenal and no easy feit it's people like this that keep art edgy and interesting and it makes people actually get up look and think about what they are visually seeing everyone sees art in there own light and in different ways this art is challenging it's amazing ❤️

The real artist is the one who created that software! He just builds the structure with the exact measurements the software gives him. There's a reason why the software tools are kept blurry through the video.
@Waterbug1591
@Waterbug1591 4 жыл бұрын
@@8castro2 Technically you can do it with any 3D software. Do all the measurements that correctly represent real world space, project 2D images onto 3D planes digitally, decide on your materials, print them out, set them up in a location. Those require LOTS of planning and hardwork. It's more about precise engineering than expressive art.

I really appreciate that the map of the US didn't spell "greed" like some have suggested. We don't stand for personal gain. Our culture looks down on people who throw away their own happiness, or infringe on the rights of others, or do anything really to chase money. But we do stand for greatness.

This is high-precision technical engineering. Not sure if I'd call it art but it's extraordinary.

Yet I can't work on an art piece for more than 2 hours or I get demotivated.

I read an interesting article about this concept the other day. It used some examples of well known works to demonstrate that just when you really get rolling; getting into the flow and pounding it out; to stop. Then go and do something else, and come back later. Stops the demotivation, in fact brings it back because you were doing so well and then . . . but where you want to go next can flow from where you left off if you put the break in. It works OK for me, hth :) and it's also very easy to do, you just . . . stop.

Parametric art that can be used in parametric architecture. This is the future where data streaming and art finds common ground. Such approach could be used easily in architecture freely. Artists deserves recognition for all the breakthrough they do with their inventions. He is a pioneer using parametric programming for his perspective pieces. Imagine the amount of artists out there that performs great work and we do not anything about them. This should be our priority too. We must search for them and know their work.

As an artist. Finding your niche is probably the hardest part. Because if you create an artwork, that ends up looking like someone else's style. Then the originator of that style might get credit.
