People don't understand that GENRE and CONCEPT is different. Red Velvet have a very versatile discography because they don't have any concept and that's the case of like every sm group. They pull off any song that they're given (If you don't believe me, may i remind you that kokobop was a rv song at first). The magic thing with dreamcatcher is that they have a concept (dark/rock) AND they manage to slay any genre while making it fit into their concept. Orchestral rock, pop rock, oriental rock, psychic rock... Dreamcatcher just rule y'all. Their discography is just as diverse as an sm group but they have a concept that actually give them a strong identity. It's just like mamamoo, all their voices and dance styles etc are really unique and no other group can do their concepts because it's THEIR concept. Their songs do not sound the same but when you listen to one of them you know it's mamamoo and same for dc. Those girls have everything, don't try and say otherwise lol

i personally love siyeon’s intense makeup, their makeup artists themselves said how much they enjoyed experimenting new styles on siyeon because she fits every style. and considering how much the staff listens to the girls and take their opinions into account you can assume that siyeon agrees and probably loves trying so many different things with her makeup. i think it emphasizes her amazing expressions very well

Well.. Dreamcatcher's not unique/versatile/diverse. 'Wind Blows' - metal/rock 'You and I' - pop/rock (mostly pop) 'Scream' - edm/ rock 'Can't Get You Out Of My Mind' and 'sleep-walking' - edm 'Red Sun' and 'Black or White' - pop 'Dear' - ballad '4 memory' and 'Which a star' - cute/fresh pop 'Sahara' and 'Break The Wall' - metal 'Jazz Bar' - a freaking jazz song. 'July 7th' - reggae references They even have a jazz song. You can tell they're not popular enough or they flop but dude, they have one of the best discography in the industry. dreamcatcher were called "the dark version of gfriend" when they debuted because they both had "anime vibes" and intense choreos. the girls didn't mind that title and somnias didn't really complain about it either. they eventually grew out of that and created their own identity later on, so purple kiss and pixy won't be an exeption. this happens all the time with musical artists :)

When will people realise saying "she looks better without makeup and should therefore be natural" will never not be a weird thing to say... she clearly LOVES the fact that her makeup artist likes her features so much that they want to keep experimenting. Even her own style of makeup is fierce and intense according to Yoohyeon (mentioned in the SiYoo vlive), plus the Minx era makeup/styling did not do her (or anyone else's) features justice, and especially wont now because she's lost most of her baby fat anyway.

You cannot take away the rock genre from dreamcatcher. They have the chance to be in an amazing company that gives them the opportunity to redebut with the concept they want (rock) and until today they ROCKED it. They are rock queeeens and they like their own songs, their songs fit them, their voices are the perfect color for rock.. It just IS them and taking rock away from them would be nothing but a CRIME

Opinion 3, as a Boca enthusiast I have to disagree XD Boca imo is the best title track from the dystopia series. The lyrics, the message, the pink gahyeon as the starter, dami's iconic rap part, sua's and jiu's bridge (my fav part coz the lyric hits deep), yoohyeon and siyeon powerful vocals...marvelous. Even the bsides are my cup of teas (especially break the wall, my ultimate fav bside)

i agreed with everything you said, except for the last opinion. yes they are vv talented, but people need to stop calling everyone that can sing/rap/dance a main vocalist/rapper/dancer. being able to sing doesn't equal being main vocalist material and thats not me sending hate to the girls, i truly love them and they are vv talented but i don't consider anyone except siyeon and yoohyeon a true main vocalist. the rest of the group just doesn't use technique as efficiently and isn't as versatile as these two.

Opinion no 13 I mean vixx vodoo doll MV do dark and horror concept so i would not say DC is the first but DC did make the concept popular or becoming so it is understandable that us as fans will see every group with dark concept remind of Dreamcatcher or at times Gidle too. But in the future this concept will be normalise that every group will explore myth, mysticism, fantasy and fiction theme. Who knows CGI could be a thing in kpop

tbh, my problem with siyeon is not the makeup its the contact lenses (outisde odd eye era bcs it fits the theme) i think her eyes are so beautiful and complement her face but when you give her some bright contact lenses it doesnt work,for me at leats

to me siyeon has dramatic and soft features so I think that on stage the reason why she does more dramatic makeup is to highlight her more dramatic features because as you can see when she does light makeup her face looks very soft. Also their concept is rock so I mean the makeup matches perfectly

I never once thought siyeon's makeup was too much or too bold. I think it suits her and highlights her beauty. Most importantly she seems to enjoy the style which means she's comfortable and happy

I do think the underrated tag has run it's course. Do I think that they are under appreciated and deserve better? ABSOLUTELY. But looking at the numbers their dystopia trilogy have garnered and the achievements, they aren't as underrated anymore. Their discography before Scream though is CRIMINALLY underrated. I think started from dystopia series/era, DC is not underated anymore. We can see the local fans are growing, 100k albums sales and korean producers, k-idols also acknowledge them. Some local TV show also mentioned/invited DC. It's just that their popularity in Korea is growing slowly. That's why, international fans thought they are underated while actually it's not.

I don’t think that “underrated” is the right word to use when describing Dreamcatcher. It’s not that they aren’t getting recognition (clearly they are because the fan base is growing and they are gradually receiving more success), it’s just that we Insomnia all know that they deserve to be one of the biggest groups. Although I suppose this is unreasonable to wish for because really the only way that they could be as popular as Blackpink, Twice etc. is if they were under a big three company. I am really fine with Dreamcatcher not having Blackpink numbers as long as it means they are treated well and have creative control (plus more attention = more hate). The only problem I still have is that they haven’t gotten a first win yet. But, again, when you think about it, DC Company doesn’t seem too worried about that because they aren’t afraid to release a comeback the same week that a really popular group does (proving they don’t care about the competition. They want to win fair and square instead of cutting corners). So, in my opinion, Dreamcatcher are not ‘underrated’, especially considering the massive impact they have had on other girl groups (such as Rolling Quartz). We should be grateful that they managed to survive and eventually become trailblazers with such a different concept and sound. Even if they aren’t as popular/successful as we want them to be, we know in our hearts that they deserve the world.

I think the way Gahyeon and Dami rap is what makes Dreamcatcher songs more cool. Dami is more strong in the way she will rap and pronunciate and even dance moves on purpose bc she is comfortable and is known for that. Wanted to put another opinion here! I honestly don't feel like DC''s music is that anime-like and in a way I feel like some ppl say that just because they're asian lol. In my opinion, a lot of DC's music (especially their title tracks) are very inspired by european symphonic/gothic metal bands that were big in the early to mid 2000's (Within Temptation, Sirenia, Nightwish, Leave's Eyes etc) There's definitely some song that do sound more anime or jrock (I miss you, new days, eclipse) but I don't feel like is as prominent as some fans make it out to be.

my response to opinion 12 would be no too- I mean dreamcatcher has a certain concept that they want to stick with for their title tracks but I mean having those kinds of concepts in the be-sides wouldn't hurt. I tried to stan a lot of great (cos they great) groups with a cute concept but...it's not really my thing. When I discovered Dreamcatcher I was shocked in a positive way....Cos it was exactly what I was searching for. I'm trying to write a book and I use their songs as an inspiration. And they are so powerful on stage. Plus, I don't think I have a bias cos love them all. Each one of them has a quality that I love and....Idk.
