this song reminds us that our time here is short and harsh, to be in this world is hard, everyone has had battles and scars echoing a hard life (perfect life doesn’t exist it’s a illusion) and we have to make the best of it: we have to let yourselves truly love and be loved! We humans are not perfect and we will always disappoint someone someday, but we have to manage how to support each other with care, love, patient, grace, affection, mercy, empathy, strength, compassion, sympathy, hope and understanding how it is to be in the other person’s condition 🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜 sending love to you all 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Well said and i totally agree. I have been telling people that the most important thing in life is to enjoy life to the fullest. Take care of your self, friends and family. Do the things that you want to do in life. Instead of just talking about it for years and get nothing done. Life is hard, but still people keep moving forward.

Sound of the waves Song of the woeful wind Beauty of yearning The tune of my heart For once there was a time When I sat by your side And right before our eyes The world was open wide Days of youth Not long since gone Never return To return again But our ..... The waning years of Heartache and regret And I hear the wind sing They sing the fairest tune And hear the waves sigh They sigh out from pain And since you set out To reach for your hopes and dreams I'll stay here helpless and in sight? For these wounded wings I never left this barren soil Where all my wishes slowly fade away Do you still remember Would you still believe That this blackened soul of mine Was once untarnished Years of disappointment and disillusion All I see in the mirror now Is an old man with heart like a grave Do you still remember Would you still believe That this blackened soul of mine Was once untarnished?

Thank you so much for showing love. I’ve had a really rough day (an amazing associate that’s been my emotional rock - got transferred.. and the seasonal change always reminds me of the loss of my big brother. It feels wrong to grow older than my eldest sibling, he was my protector (similar to my associate; a source of strength and security) The music this morning was greatly needed. It made me feel something other than the immense loss I’ve suffered; both past and present. Thank you for your warmth. even from behind the screen it reaches. ❤️

After a few days of listening, it seems that Insomnium has created somekind of a Carelian masterpiece. Where Amorphis and others have succesfully kept our Kalevala alive and turned the old storys and poems into music, Insomnium has now turned up with an epic that - at least to me - describes North Carelia like nothing before. The sadness, the melodies, riffs like our bedrock, agony and misery all combined with a glimpse of joy and mountainfull of resilience. Added with our national scenery from Ukko - Koli and some references to old Sentenced, I felt like home immediately. Like my wife said to me after the first listening; " One can see Finnish man really liking a song when he listens to song quietly with a small smile in his face and eventually starts to nod his head with the rythm of music."

As a die hard Insomnium fan, i was beside myself when this album dropped. This was the first song i heard and kill me for saying, I wasnt captured as i was by their older stuff. But something kept drawing me back, becoming my go to song to cheers me up in time.. I didnt know why. Today after listening to it for the 100th odd time i actually read the lyrics(I can make out some but i never focus on it too hard as the music is just too captivating).. and after reading it realized it portrays the last two years of my life as 2 years ago i lost the love of my life. She had bigger dreams and i had to stay behind, feeling dread and sadness develop to the likes of which i never thought possible.. We loved each other, but i always ended up disappointing her one way or the other.. Two years on and i still smell her hair and see her when i wake up.. I feel i have indeed become an old man with a heart like a grave.. And my soul blackened with time.. And i sometimes wonder if she remembers the times before it all went to shit.. i wonder

Nonetheless, it's only a few seconds after which the songs go in entirely different directions. I'd hardly call that stealing, although you're allowed to consider it scummy. Only the very hard of thinking believe metal is just noise - sure there are a lot of very hard of thinking people out there. Swathes of metal bands produce music of great emotional and/or musical depth and complexity, far too many to list here, but in terms of diversity, a few that spring to mind are Dream Theatre, Queensryche, In Flames and Triptykon. And unlike the nauseating pop genre that is rammed down our throats every day, metal embraces bands from all over the world, not just the English-speaking domain that dominates the airwaves.

Insomnium to me is hands down the best melodic death metal band out there in my opinion. Amon Amarth was my favorite for awhile (although not particularly melodic death metal, but similar in many ways).
