I’m so thankful you continued to make videos. They are an important part of how I am redefining what I want my life to look like post pandemic. I appreciate you documenting your art and it’s process. It is a blessing to me.

Great intro, peace bro✌🏼My mother grew up in Florence,Italy during the war, my grandfather was shot in the back by the Nazis and left for dead, but he lived. My mother told me of Italians hiding the precious art in their homes so they could keep them away and safe. Florence survived, their art survived and so shall we. Be safe and thanks for creating.

Glad to see you use cone packs. We were taught at Herron to make our cone packs with the cone before, the cone temp you want, and the cone higher so you can tell the actual “heat work” that is going on in your kiln. Even though I only have electric digital kilns, I always use several cone packs, putting them in different spots on different shelves, to tell the “story” of each firing.

Your art and your life are an inspiration. Do not sell yourself short.

Hi Matt! Apart from the definite historical/cultural value of your videos and your art, the social aspects of you sharing your work through this medium are especially timely right now! Being able to watch and listen to you describe your pieces and processes is about as close as we can get to being there in person visiting with you, and it is very satisfying to share the experience with you, absolutely a great way to keep the feelings of isolation at bay. Thought I'd add another thought. Its not so much about the need to see a new video, but having new matter, especially if we'd seen all your past videos, would give inspiration in continuing to be creative, especially through these difficult times. It's great to see you create and talk about what is going on where you are. It's good for us, to be able to put it in perspective, and from a selfish point of view, having factual videos about how you create these pots, is the next best thing to attending a workshop or art class or gallery; of which are non are possible at this current time. I just hope you get as much out of making your video diaries, as we get from watching them!

Reality 101: at this point, social media is our social life right now. Your videos help those of us who do not have access to a pottery studio to keep our imagination alive. Do you ever use Amoco's bisque fix for cracked bisque ware? It will be fun to see how the broken glass bubbles catch the glazes in the final fire. One thing I miss fro the pottery studio is soaking cotton string and cotton yarn in slip and laying it onto leather hard greenware to sculpt landscapes, and to make handles. Cotton yarn makes amazing trees, and it's so much fun to add glass beads for leaves, and fruits. Cotton string makes great water streams and waves. I now wish I could soak cotton string in glaze and apply to bisque ware. I miss the pottery studio.

I appreciate the video, and the additional intro. These videos really do help people, possibly more than you know. You said it yourself, you see other potter's work and are inspired. You provide that inspiration as well. In fact, your livestreams have inspired me to try some, with my students, who I won't see for a month, possibly longer. I've done plenty of demos, in my years teaching, and even a few supplementary videos. But I have yet to try a livestream... In regards to the unloading, I had an issue with some dunting cracks, like you experienced on your jars. Mine was in my small Raku kiln. I tried the same bowl design three times, and it cracked each time. I some cases it cracked in the kiln, other times, it wasn't until it was in the reduction bin. The form was just always right in the flame path, and other than changing the form completely. not much I could do. I'll get back to it some day...

I really liked the pre-intro intro. You are an inspiration to me, keep up the great work. These videos provide me/us an outlet during the time that we are isolating ourselves - thank you! Right now I am doing my third bisque firing in my new kiln. So far no real big mishaps in bisque. Had some problems with glaze though. I know I need to adjust my bisque firing schedule for thicker pieces to improve on organic burnout. Hope to be up for your second woof kiln opening, good luck!
