@@judyclarkson5887 Ooh my stance on that is that Steph is objectively a better player, but I also don’t think the gap is as far as most people think. I think if you swapped Dame and Steph, Dame may have 1 or 2 rings, but highly doubt he has 4. I also think Curry, as ridiculously good as he is, wouldn’t have won a ring with the rosters Dames had his whole career. Only so much a guard can do in the playoffs when he’s being trapped at halfcourt and his role players can’t shoot.

@Qichar27 күн бұрын
@@solemagus4761 Positions are only so important in basketball. More the point, I think we have to let Steph into the top 10 ALL TIME players now at any position. It's obvious Steph is not the best passer (not even close), but it's just as obvious he's the best SHOOTER of all time. In a game where the objective is to put the ball through the hole, I think an argument could be made for Steph being the best at the 1 even if Draymond is sharing the distribution load with Steph. Let's look at it like this. You're starting a new team, and you can pick anybody, ANYBODY at all for your starting 5. Are you seriously going to start Magic over Curry if, say, Lebron is your 3? Finally, when you're the best shooter ever, and the ball is in your hands, why is it necessary to make an extra pass? Can we really accuse Steph of taking "bad" shots? Steph's made plenty of really pretty passes in his career; his assist numbers are lower simply because he knows the high percentage play is simply to pull up most of the time.

@Qichar26 күн бұрын
@@mastermace7770 Maybe Magic could beat Steph 1:1 because he's so tall. But in a 5 on 5 TEAM GAME, where Steph spreads the floor and makes everyone else get wide open shots, Steph is better to slot into the 1 position. Don't believe me? Did you watch this game against Serbia? Steph scored a team high 24 points, 6/9 from three point range. This is on a team with superstars like AD, Lebron, Tatum. Just a regular day at the office for Steph though. He's completely un-guardable as long as the refs are not blatantly favoring the other team and letting them foul the s out of Steph. I know some of you out there live in the past, and others of you want to stick to strict definitions of what a point guard is, but Steph plays the 1, Klay (before he left) was their 2. I got it, some will say Steph is a "combo guard", but honestly Steph brings the ball down, gives it up, and then moves without the ball. Steph doesn't have as many assists because they don't count "hockey assists" in basketball. But Steph is just as much of the ball movement as any traditional PG. He just doesn't care about racking up numbers in the actual assist column because he cares about winning.

@@yoitsSmitty2004 no he’s not draymond is more of a point guard. Lebron just said curry is the best when he doesn’t have the ball. That's from Reggie Miller and Richard Hamilton. They run and run and run around so many screens into a catch and shoot situation. During his 2nd 3peat, Jordan was also running around without the ball, with screens to get to his spots for catch and shoots. That's the ultimate evolutionary version of high volume scoring from the perimeter. Maximum efficiency with minimal dribbles and time holding the ball.

Ray Allen, RIP Hamilton, these guys were essentially running Wide Receiver routes in the NBA, and once they caught the ball it was nothing but a swish.

this is why a second offensive threat and a third option make a team with Curry unstoppable. If you guard him like that without the ball....it's automatic 1v1 for the next closest guard. If you got a slasher and a spot up shooter, aka Durant (obviously he's more than a slasher but you get the point) and Thompson. You have to win 1v1 matchups to beat them.

😂 LeBron is not bad at defense. He’s amazing at it. He’s just old now. He can’t spend as much energy as he used to. He has to conserve his energy so he can still carry the scoring burden on offense and also play real defense when the game is on the line. He has to pick and choose his spots. He’s not in his 20s anymore. He’s about to be 40.

@Curry30Kobe4 ай бұрын
Nope. He guarded him for no more than 6-7 possessions in the entire series. If I was to bet I'd say even less than that. There was the one possession where it happened at the height of LeBron throwing the Finals away, and it stuck as a joke, later becoming a bit of a rewrite of history. By it happened I mean that LeBron was unwilling to attack the mismatch in the post, not that Barea did anything to clamp him down in particular. Lebron was just way to passive that series but yall always bring up lebrons failures but never bring up Kobe in 04 he was terrible that series even as a Kobe fan he sucked that finals yet it’s never brought up by mj fans and mj and in 1996 in the last 3 games he averaged 23-5-3 on 35fg percentage but nobody talks about that because he won the last 3 games of 2011 lebron averaged 15-8-8 on a way higher efficiency but still not great 43% every single all time great has had a bad game or a bad series relative to what they are expected at why do yall only talk about lebrons failures 13 years ago when he’s proved countless times since then that there’s no true way to stop him only slow him down he’s worked on his game in those 13 years those narratives were true 13 years ago that lebron is a playoff choker but it’s not anymore
