You start making music, never let anyone attempt to discourage you from pursuing an interest where that interest is not having an adverse impact on other areas of your life, be it financial or otherwise. Whether you make a career out of it or not, if you love producing music, then if for nothing else other than creative and therapeutic reasons, you should make it apart of your life and where it goes from there is up to you. I personally could care less about becoming a successful musician from a financial position, I make music for myself, my projects, videos, and similar pursuits and while everyone’s interest and objectives may differ, there is no “one”, no “thing”, that can discourage me from doing something I’m passionate about and that is as benign as taking up a sport for similar reasons or . Your friends are likely snakes in the grass, remember who shows you support and who doesn’t. Even if you made terrible music (😂) friends should show you a little love and if applicable constructive criticism.

your friends “hate” on you because they are both scared to put themselves out there in a creative way, and jealous that you do something you love without caring what others think. you could make amazing music and they will still shit on you out of jealousy. remember that and keep going, your success and talent will outshine them and they will either come around or see that what they say doesn’t affect you
