Looking forward to the detailed comparison! Btw, I think Action 4 has a "default" HDR, seen some other reviewers saying it vs others saying there's none, so I googled and apparently it's there

I’ve heard that and I see some indications that there might be light HDR effects. However, if this is true, prefer to have the option to turn HDR on and off bc HDR doesn’t always look good.

Great video! Do you know if I can use the dji mic 1 with the ace pro? ( using usb-c or the ace pro mic adapter?) can decide between the ace pro and action 4 for this reason

Honestly, the footage breaks down when editing. I also need 10 bit colors because no matter what the influencers say it matters along with a non removable lens. The stabilization is really good but the focusing is not that great. The IA gimmicky features get old after a couple of uses. The Photos are good though. No overheating but I sent it back and I'm sticking withy OA4.

Will there be an in-depth tutorial available for using the software and app? Currently, there seems to be limited information on this. Transitioning from GoPro, one notable challenge is the absence of the ability to crop a video, especially when shifting from 16:9 to 9:6. In certain situations, I find the Quick App more user-friendly for this purpose. Unlike GoPro, which allows merging media from your iPhone, Insta360 seems restricted to auto-editing footage filmed on the Insta itself. Do you happen to know of any workarounds for this limitation?

Yes, I’ll have tutorials and a settings guide coming soon. If you shoot in FreeForm mode, this allows you to crop and choose your aspect ratio in post.

So glad you came out with a review of this camera. I always can trust your tips and advise that are true and honest. I have replaced this camera instead of GoPro. It just have some many other features that make it a good all round camera. No prefect but great for traveling and sports.

Insta360 needs to do an update to fix the min focusing distance in a vlogging mode. I guess in the next version, but they really should do it in this version. Makes closer vlogging hard.

Good point. Although honestly, the DJi and GoPro suffer from this as well. Action cameras aren’t great for closeup shots.

@@Gemini_Connect In some of the comparisons the Action 4 looks more in focus closer. The new DJI update seems to be good, but I generally find their cameras to be a bit muddy and dark. The most recent update seems to address this. I'm very tempted to try the pocket 3.

Thanks for the video, but I was wondering if this camera has a quick capture like GoPro. It is super important. I am asking because I owned a Insta360 one R 1 inch model for which I need to hold the rec button for few second to take a video and the camera does not shut down once I hit the stop record button. This is a bummer because you lose precious time for action scenarios and are not intuitive. Also I notice the camera takes a few seconds to process and save footage so again it slows down the user workflow and quick action captures. For this reason alone, I will choose GoPro! After all it all boils down to user experience 😊

yes ace pro did have a quick capture but it starts soooo slow. another user-experience weakness of ace pro that many influencer don't mention... the best experience of quick capture i got so far is on action 4. it starts way faster than gopro and acepro, probably around 0.05s...

Action 4 features a "lowlight enhancement" mode similar to acepro Pure Video Mode, offering the same level of noise reduction as acepro.

@@kellyfrom98 The Ace pro doesn't have a stabilizer, That's another deal breaker. I'm going to get the Action 4 instead. But side to side video comparison the Ace pro has better low light video than the Action 4 because it has more megapixels.

I have the Ace Pro, and I can see the gap on the lens guard just like the GoPro. Although I'm not taking a risk by removing the lens guard yet, there are videos that show how the lens guard can be removed just like the GoPro

I’ve heard that. Insta360 told me their concern is that the camera may not be fully waterproof if the lens comes off or is removed.

Pocket 3 has a bigger sensor so it is indeed better in low light. But it is very fragile and definitely not an action camera. You would use each camera very differently and for different purposes.
