Awesome! :D Yeah, you just need to know a little about the command prompt (changing directories), then to be able to run the executables . :) Is that all you needed?

Hi , I am having issues with Fastboot not returning anything after a "Fastboot Devices" Command although I have been using it for 6 months following your other videos , so I decided to do this Tutorial too and "fix" things , I have not install the SDK or JDK previously (not sure if that's why different from video?) but I think something has changed.... the JDK installs fine ( tried it in default location and on my Data HD (vs SSD) but I can not get the SDK to install with android.bat. If I open a CMD window instead of clicking on the .bat file and Run it I am given a list of available commands, so I tried "Android update sdk" but it errors out eventually telling me it can't move the target and to move it away manually. So beng stumped on this I just got the Platform tools directly from your link and installed them and have added the Folder to the Path as described and "adb version" works fine but the "fastboot devices" command just returns me to the Prompt still. Any Ideas??? Thanks. Edit : I have ended up Following your Video on the July update and Using Flashfire instead... that went perfectly thanks, would still like to fix the fastboot problem if I can though. that video is here for Others: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oJuCoNug0seogKc.html

If you use Windows 8 the path variable will be just a large text file in one line. Just add: ";[location]\platform-tools\" where [location] is the C: and so on

Are you on the Windows 10 creators update? They replaced that option with opening a new PowerShell window. :( There's a registry tweak to add it back: winaero.com/blog/add-command-prompt-to-context-menu-in-windows-10-creators-update/ If you follow through to adding the adb and fastboot location to the 'Path' environment variable you won't need to change directories.

Guys when i click on andoroid.bat, a command prompt is seen very briefly and then exits automatically, what could be the problem? I run on windows 8

Have you installed the JDK (Java development Kit) and not the JRE (Java Runtime)? The command prompt does briefly show up but you should see the package manager come up. If you're still having issues, you can just download the tools directly: dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip

+J3KYLL edit the .bat file and add "pause" at the end on a new line. Run the batch file and you should be able to see the output there.

Thanks, but I figured out the issue already. This was the output: The android command is no longer available. For manual SDK and AVD management, please use Android Studio. For command-line tools, use tools/bin/sdkmanager and tools/bin/avdmanager I just installed an earlier archived version.

Probably not. You'll want to reset your device and try to refrain from installing sketchy Play Store apps and as well as untrustworthy 3rd party apps.

The Java JDK is needed to bring up that 'Android Package Manager' interface (from my experiences), otherwise you might get a message when 'android.bat' is run saying that the JDK is not installed and/or you won't see the package manager window open at all. :)

Can anyone help me? Ones i extracted the Tools folder and i go into the tools folder i dont see the adroid.bat. Is it that im missing something? Do i have to download something else before i do this steps in this video? Thank you.

+vap0896 no, all the steps should be as shown in the video. Could an anti virus be removing the bat files as a false positive? Also, are you able to extract just any single bat file? As long as the tools zip hasn't changed since, it should be the same.

I turned off all my anti virus and still nothing. I tried extracting just the adroid.bat and ones i do it becomes just the android file. Im also missing the Android SDK manager but i dont think this has anything to do with not being able to extract this tool file. Everything was going good until that point. Is so weird.

Oh are you able to rename the 'android' file to add the .bat extension? Also see if you can open it with notepad or a similar text editor, if the file is not corrupt, you should be able to see some commands.

Sure thing, I'll probably take a look try some things out, so it may be a few days. Edit: well just for restoring it's just the ADB command: adb restore *drag .ab file here* Then follow the rest of the prompts on your phone.

Ive got as far as running the "android" batch file but nothing happens looks like it runs the script but SDK installer doesnt follow ? What am I doing wrong ?

Hi Dave, this video is quite old and we don't have to go through the Android SDK manager anymore! You can download the platform tools and just add them to the PATH environment variable. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/apmXhLWj2tXYh2Q.html

Hey have a small issue with my Nexus 6p...I'm having an error recently with the settings option where whenever I access APPS in settings menu...it loads for a while and then closes automatically giving an error .."settings has stopped". This keeps popping up all the time now...I heard that by using ADB I could access command shell and clear the settings without doing on the device...which would clear the issue..but I did this and still the problem persists...any other way on how to solve this issue...feedback will be appreciated..thanks in advance.. !!!!!

You might be better off doing a factory reset in this case. Is your bootloader unlocked? You might be able to flash the system image instead of wiping first.

Maybe im dumb but when i download the Android SDK Command Line Tools i only have a bin, lib NOTICE.txt and source.properties nothing else. No android.bat either.

Hi! Sorry, this video is quite old now. You can get the platform-tools directly from here: developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools If you want to add them to the PATH environment variable so you can use it globally via your terminal of choice, I have a newer video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/apmXhLWj2tXYh2Q.html

Ah yes, in the latest Windows 1703 update (Creators) they've made Power Shell default. You can edit the registry to add it back: winaero.com/blog/add-command-prompt-to-context-menu-in-windows-10-creators-update/ OR: in the same explorer window as your adb/fastboot files, go up to the address bar and type 'cmd', a command prompt will open up in the same directory.

You can still use PowerShell. Just ensure that you prefix the executable you wish to run with ".\" if it has not been added to the PATH environment variable.

Yeah sure, have a look at this: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hK2pa5ijq6zMfIE.html It might be a little tricky if things are set up a little different, but as long as the bootloader/fastboot drivers are installed properly, you should be golden. Skip the part where I talk about downloading and using adb and fastboot, you've done it a better way here. ;)

hi boss i am trying to download SDK but after all done its cant show me the android.bat and just showing me the android only and isn't working as your showing in video.just simple is that its giving me bugs. here i mentioning the one thing i already install latest_usb_driver_windows. i am requesting for he me out in this situation . thanks

You downloaded the right SDK command line tools? The downloaded file should start with "tools" and end in .zip. Make sure it's for Windows. Otherwise, open command prompt and drag in that 'android' file on top of it and press enter to run it. :)

Could you have an anti-virus that deletes the android.bat when extracting? If you do have an anti-virus, try disabling it for a sec. Otherwise, in recent news, Google has put up direct links for ADB and fastboot (that are always up to date at the time): dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip

MaowDroid thanks boss. actually last night I sort out of that problem I done something wrong inside when I was unzipping the file inside in tree folder. my meaning in partition and further I make one another folder and inside that folder for the same reasons so that's why I unzip a file which make me bugs. after that when I unzip that file inside in the partition so I solve my problem. I'm sorry for you are extra time but here I have to be mention my experience to be find out the others friend problems.. in the last I have to be said I'm so thankful for your kind reply and your amazing videos thank you very much

I guess it could, for some it enables automatically on the current radio, but I did see a post about using a very old radio from the Marshmallow times but I doubt that would work now.

Nope! :) It just makes it easier to use ADB/fastboot without needing to change directories every time. But, I was personally just doing the first part myself for years.
