- For those that have an empty Slang_shaders folder...goto "online updater" then "update slang shaders" - For those that only see GLSL on not Slang: Settings > video > video driver > select Vulkan. Restart RetroArch. Slang shaders should now show on online updater

@@RetroCrisis Yes! I combined and tweaked multiple existing shaders, parameters & presets to make a SNES shader that does everything a CRT shader achieves such as correct dithering, transparency, pixel blending etc without visible scanlines for people who want as close to the original image but with a cleaner more modern upscaled image P.S. I love the benefits a CRT shader gives but sometimes I just want all those benefits without visible scanlines, you know? ;)

For some reason after I did everything when I load the games it crashes and says failed to extract content from the compressed file, it worked perfectly before

These shaders are getting better and better. This one is just too demanding for my shield 😔 getting around 53fps on sonic 1

Nice guide, but can't you just unzip files from the Files app without a third party app? I just hold down on a file and the submenu pops up.

Yes you dont need any thirdparty apps i dont know why ppl use those

It wasn't letting me on my iPad for some reason - unless I was doing it wrong. (Android is my main system, so still learning about apple 🙈)

Yes you don’t even need to long tap. Just tap any zip on Files and it will unzip in a breeze

So i got all the folders for the different shaders and i confirmed that the shaders are in there through the files app but when i tried to load any shader retroarch just doesn’t see anything in any of the folders. It just says no items in all of them. But i know they all have a shader file in them. I’ve updated multiple times I’m on vulkan i followed you other shader tutorial and nothing is showing still idk what is wrong with my retroarch. I just want shaders.

I’ve been enjoying crt shaders with RetroArch on my iPad cus mine is a 16:10 ish aspect and feels perfect for retro 4:3 games. But wandering can you watch video files or just for games atm

Thank you for your job! My retroarch on ipad pro refuses to use the presets for some reason. Says failed to load. I guess I'll fiddle with it in some ways for a while.

Make sure you've installed it correct folder etc. also hit online updated> slang shaders

@@RetroCrisis thanks, that was the next thing I was gonna do coming back home, it worked, I left it as a last resort because I’ve just updated the app. Thanks again for the filters, it’s so nice to have this glow and acid colours. I’m still striving for a nice crt, but I’ll have to deal with having only an hdmi adapter option. Still it’s not too bad they say. Btw your latest crt related video was the first one I saw, and I love your content. Thanks for being altruistic and helpful to the community and people in general, much love.

@@RetroCrisis I've got ViewSonic PT795 today, and it's too clean... I guess I'll use some Retro Crisis filters haha! I was expecting scanlines and whatnot, but the image is so crispy! But I like how 1024x768 feels like 4k, and those 135hz are nice.

from my test your shaders work but are a bit too heavy for my ipad. If you could make a varient of your presset from guest advance fastest , it would be perfect.

Are you planning on releasing shaders that will work on the Apple TVOS? I tried the ones currently available and work find on iOS but for some reason, although they do load on the TV OS, the performance is bad and there is choppiness. It would be awesome if we can get them to work well on the Apple TV!

1. do these shader have a huge impact on battery consumption? 2. are there any optimized for iphone screen size? most shaders are intended for big screens, so when applying them on iphone, all those fine details are barely noticeable, and I am looking for something that has a great balance between bringing a nostalgic look, smoothing the pixels but also keep battery use relatively low

My advice is maybe start off with the 720p presets first. Those are designed for smaller mobile screens like the steamdeck. They don't impact battery life that much.

@@RetroCrisis uhm I just tried the 720p Saturn preset on an iPhone 15 Pro with Nights Into Dreams and it stutters so much it’s almost unplayable 🤔

Hello there, thank you very much for your shaders. I’m currently using them and it’s really great. However got some question. Do you have shaders for other consoles not listed? I’m looking for PC engine, game gear, wonderswan (I know this one is rare stuff) shaders. Would it be fine if I use megadrive shaders for pc engine games and GBA shaders for gamegear? They are kind of similar console and around same generation.

Hi, you're free to use whichever presets you like. Try them all out and see which ones work best for you. I'll get around to PC Engine and Game Gear soon enough 😄

whenever I check the online updater, I only get the option to update GLSL Shaders, but the option to update the slang shaders is nowhere to be found :( do you know how can I fix this?

Settings > video > video driver > select Vulkan. Restart RetroArch. Slang shaders should now show on online updater

what if that doesn’t work either? should I give up? D: haha, when I checked that, the selected driver was already Vulkan :(

If Vulkan is selected it shouldn't offer GLSL on online updater - it should only offer Slang on the updater. Something isn't right here

My shaders folder is completely empty, no shaders slang sub folder. Tried unzipping your file but error when selecting a shader…
