Install STC-1000 Thermostat Into A Fridge/Freezer

A quick demo of how a fridge/freezers factory thermostat can be replaced with a STC-1000.
This method only turns the fridge/freezer on+off and keeps the light and fast freeze working.

Hi, What are the two blue wires coming from the original brown connector and only one blue wire coming from the other? I assume the STC is independently powered? Thanks

So your freezer temperature bulb is removed and replaced with the new thermister? If you did replace the thermister, how did you feed it in where the temperature bulb was?

I don't follow sorry. I replaced their thermostat with an STC-1000 and put the sensor in a bottle of water with metho. No thermisters or bulbs. If your talking lighting i did replace the bulb in the lid with an LED strip but that a whole another topic.

Took it from the fridge. No need for a second power lead

On amazon's review I read that on temperature under zero degree celsius appear an error. Is it true or not?

Not on myne. Unfortunately there are so many variants of the same one. Each time I order one it looks slightly different with slightly different parts. That's China's QC though. Still good

"Active" ("Oz") = "Hot" (USA) = "Live" (UK). i.e. NOT the neutral wire

Very good point. Thanks Fortunately, in recent times ink bird is taking over these old units and is meaning that home wiring is not worth it and not required.

With blue point electrical connectors and electrical tape with the proper electrical insulation resistance in accordance with AS3000.

muz guz It's a good thing it's as per AS/NZS 3000:2008 :) nowhere in there dose it say that BPs must be used, it dose say you cannot solder and shrink a connection though. soldering isn't normally done because your standard sparkie dosent have the time to muck around with solder (and most of them do a shithouse job).

Please point out the section and clause number in AS/NZS 3000:2008 that states that BP's and tape must be used.

maXim0200 you must maintain your ip rating and from what i could tell you certainly didnt do that.
