This video is a follow on to my configuring a deployment server and pushing out apps to my endpoints. You can check that video out here: • Basic setup of a Splun...
During this video I will cover installing the IT Essentials Learn and IT Essentials Work app in my Splunk environment. Both apps are free to download and supported by Splunk.
After IT Essentials Learn and Work have been installed, I will utilize the deployment server to push out 2 new apps built for metrics collection. Yes, you will see me create the configuration files for metrics collection and where to find examples in documentation and from the support technology add-ons that are being deployed.
You will also see me at a high level go over another app called Config Explorer (splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4353). I didn’t spend too much time in the app, but plan on making another video to go deeper into this app.
Once the apps configured to collect metrics data have been deployed, I will jump back into IT Essentials Work and take a quick look at the data being collected.
This is when in the video I realize that a folder with scripts was not copied over to my metrics collection app for Unix/Linux. After a pause, I will go back to my deployment server and show you my mistake and how to resolve my issue.
In the next video, I will be going deeper into how to search the metrics data and using IT Essentials Work.
