You should identify the white wire as current carrying by wrapping with black electrical tape or using a marker.

Why didn't you use some black or red phasing tape on the white wire, especially since you're using it as an hot.

I’m confused. Why didn’t you show people where the neutral wire goes on the neutral bar? Some might assume the second line wire is the neutral. Which could be real bad if someone ran wire to a receptacle and wired it with the white as neutral. I myself would use another black wire or even red for the second live wire or at least wrap black tape around it. I don’t like wiring stuff this way. Same with when some people wire a light switch to a light fixture and use white as hot. White is universally neutral at least in USA and for the next people coming along they might immediately assume it’s neutral. I’m not a pro though. So maybe I’m making a big deal out of nothing.

These connections should be torqued to specs, also it will be a good practice to completely separate neutral and ground bus. Even if your state doesn't require an outside main disconnect they will at some point. When they do now an electrician has to separate all of these grounds and neutrals instead of just simply removing a bonding screw or jumper

Yea the breaker in my parents house has three bus bars that are all mixed with neutrals and grounds. Whoever once wired this box did a sloppy job. Also someone wired what looks like aluminum wire to the terminals. I have no idea what the one was used for. It’s just hanging out side of the house. I assume the other might be a ground but idk. I’d need a pro to check this out for me.

If you’re going to make a KZfaq short on wiring a 240v circuit or any electrical for that matter at least do it correctly. You must phase the wires accordingly. A ungrounded conductor identified as white in this scenario used as an ungrounded conductor must be black. Removing the breaker to strip the wires is also a big waste of time and unnecessary. This is the problem when DIY channels try to teach trade content.

If it was it isn’t anymore. Connecting a wire to a double pole breaker now energized both wires. He will still need to terminate a new neutral wire for a complete circuit.

@@BrianBoruishFirst he used a Grounded conductor as an ungrounded conductor. Second he didn’t label it as an ungrounded conductor. Which you can’t legally do with 10 gauge wire in the first place. The correct way is to use a 4 wire Romex. The way he showed is just leaving candy for a home inspector lol
