In this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart begin installing the amazing bespoke artisanal tiles that they sourced for their chateau kitchen. They are gluing, cutting, and grouting the unique beautiful tiles, and they are doing it all themselves! They also discuss some of their upcoming projects in the chateau.

YEAH 20,000🎉 you are building a little at a time and I am so proud of you. I also really love how close you have come to Jane and Tony. I have watched Jane also build their platform and Tony is one hell of a Jack of all trades. He is talented and fast. I watched build a whole apartment in the time that most do a bathroom 😂. Now Terry and Ash have given you a shout out. It warms my heart how much support all the KZfaq chateau families reaching out to each to help not just build a channel but the money that is made from the channels go right into the restoration. One thing many NEVER talk about is all the work each of you bring into each of your towns. Hiring local tradesmen. All of the supplies you buy. The brocantes are the little unsung heroes. Y’all have made antiquing a new favorite past time. All of the tourism that comes with people wanting to visit and or buying other chateau’s. All around you all are making a great new wholesome lifestyle to keep hundreds of thousands of people becoming interested in old buildings being saved for its historical value. I personally now know more about the 15th through to the 19th century art and antiques then I have ever have before.

Ahhh,so now you have become Celebrities in France! I am honored that we knew you first ha ha... I am loving the Mother Of Pearl choice for the backsplash! Such a nice contrast and a little bit of bling to shine. I think you have done an excellent job so far even though I was counting Patrick's fingers every time he was cutting with that blade saw . Such a scary thing to watch from here. I think the music helped 😜🥰

Good morning Helene. 😂😂😂. Love it. We have been recognized a few times and it is very new. But everyone is always really respectful and friendly. 😊. The tiles give the room a little bit of bling, you are right about that. Rest assured that I wouldn’t do the same with a regular saw. The tile saw is completely dull. Dear Patrick and Stuart, I love, love, love your tile choice. It’s understated, bright and the pearl shine picks up the light from the room. Great choice! The kitchen is beautiful. Wow, how nice for you that the local newspaper did an interview with you Patrick. So now we know what you wore for the interview and are still wearing.... oh oh, Stuart got you there! Oh, Patrick, two hours speaking only French. God bless you. J'ai étudié le français pendant 2 ans au lycée il y a 48 ans / I studied French for two years in high school 48 years ago. Estudié español al mismo tiempo / I studied Spanish at the same time. I frequently mix the two languages. But I certainly cannot hold a conversation. I struggle to remember the basics as I haven't used French at all and Spanish only recently.

I agree with everyone, the tiles look wonderful! I'm so glad you chose a neutral grout instead of higher contrast, I think it adds to the elegance of a kitchen and lets the rest of the décor sing rather than compete; for instance, the pot rack❤.

I really like the sheen of the tiles. The temporary butcher block countertop looks great. If your preferred option doesn’t come through that might be a great option. Don’t know if you guys follow what’s happening here in the Midwest; there have been big powerful tornadoes killing folks mostly in the southern & mid states including Illinois. Good morning Stuart & Patrick, both of you are looking so pleased and relaxed, I knew, something has gone wonderfully at the Chateaux :) The tiles are just exquisite!! I personally love a small tile, less waste and cutting. Those look like satin also like cream, I could give them a lick! They are really beautiful. Patrick you have amazing tiling skills. Well done. How nice to know as the French are watching what you are doing, I am sure they also appreciate your love and care for the property. Now, I hope you hang ten for a copy of the paper, get two, one you can read and show and one to go into the time capsule!! Would that not be a great find??!! Find something safe to wrap the paper in so that the ink will not fade and to keep it dry. Also, do place a photo of yourselves and a separate photo of the dogs. It would be an amazing piece of History for the capsule. People would know what the owners looked like and part of your lifestyle with a piece of your own history, coming from the U.S.A. and living your dream in France. You should place something of your own personal self in there, it would be wonderful memorabilia. Even some before and after photos. What an exciting life you are now living. Do take care, be happy. Good morning Sheila. Thank you for your wonderful compliment. We love the tiles and you are absolutely right. They shine differently throughout the day and evening with different light settings. ❤😊❤ As for tiling….. as long as one stays very close to the horizontal and vertical lines, it is really easy. I’m not the detail person here but not rushing myself makes it a fun project. The interview was so much fun. Even though I had my blank brain moments. 😂😂😂. The tiles are lovely. I quite like the simplicity of your temporary countertops. At least in that little slice of your new kitchen it lets the copper take center stage. And your French Grey paint is wonderful - subtle but elegant. Patrick, I have expressed tractor envy before but it tripled today as I built a new 16' x4' raised bed of green hemlock (the side boards each weigh over 100 pounds which is only slightly less than I weigh) and started to fill it - shovelful by shovelful. Sigh.

I would definitely stick a stone counter top. We have granite in one half of the kitchen and cherry wood on the other side. Looks lovely but has to regularly sanded and oiled. We are about to change it to stone, much easier to look after.

Not only are you both extraordinary artists you guys are also astonishing craftsmen and just an absolute joy to watch 🥰❤❤❤❤❤ That bath tub in the guest suite 😍....wow that tub brought to mind Clint Eastwood and his western movies like "A few dollars more" "A fist full of dollars" "the good the bad and the ugly" and more......like how they used the old copper tubs with the high back just like you guys one. I dont know if your one is copper but it just reminded me of western movies 🤣🤣🤣 thats freaking brilliant. Love it 🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Can't wait to see the kitchen reveal when the stove arrives and can't wait to see what you guys do with that bathroom.
