Loved seeing those drawers go so high, hardly anyone else goes above 3 or 4 drawers. Designing mine now & went 6 high in a few spots & my measurements said it was fine but I just wasn’t seeing many others do it so I was worried I was missing something😂

Hi thanks for sharing your DIY PAX assembly, I noticed you guys didn’t had base bard removed ; was the closet ok to install without removing base board ? I have 1/2” thick base board that I was thinking to keep as is n assemble to PAX front of it .

Yea, we left the baseboards. If you leave them there, you will need to make sure your anchors can support it. We used long toggle bolts that are secure without being tightened all the way if that makes sense. You could also add a spacer or limiter on the bolt that would align the frame where you need it. Hope that helps!

Sure! It's approximately 10'x10.5' with 9' ceilings.

I put together the IKEA PAX closet alone and at age 69 it was not hard at all. Just took my time and look at DIY for help. I am not paying additonal $175+ for someone to put together for it. Plus I really appreciated it more. It's not hard at all.

Do you have a plan for the entire setup? I placed an order for 5 PAX designs, and the order has more than 200 items. Will they send me an installation for each design? Tried to call Ikea, couldn't get an answer.

Any tips for installing without removing the baseboards. We are not DIY savvy..our baseboard in about half an inch thick

Thanks! The drawers do not require any additional doors. There are a few different drawer fronts to pick from and you can of course add your own hardware. I prefer the simple, minimalist look.

I’m wondering what you put over the bottom legs that went under the cabinets - we built the same one but the screw locks are visible and the piece that was assembled to add front support - (my husband built them and claims they’re supposed to be that way )

Good question, I'm not 100% sure. I would guess 8-10 hours. The bulk of that was assembling the drawers and unpackaging things. The frames go up fairly quick.

Removing the baseboards is definitely the best way to install these cabinets. We didn't this time however, because we didn't need the extra space from removing the baseboards and we spaced out the anchors on the walls so they still sit level.

You are correct, it probably took 8-10 hours total. We didn't time ourselves though so I'm not 100% sure.
