I just installed an Xtrons @ourxtrons PQS91MTVL Android 11 Head unit into my car so as I made a video the last time I did this I thought I'd make an updated one.

Just installed an IQ92MTVP in the wife her Golf VI. Pretty straightforward. Everything works. Only one thing I haven't sorted out is how to call with the unit itself since it has got a sim card with tel number. Maybe it's not possible but if someone can tell that would be welcome.

Hi Steve, great video. I was trail fitting the same unit in my Passat B7 last night. What did you do with the built in VW Bluetooth module? Did you disconnect it? Everything worked on my trial fit except the phone status and dialling on the MFD Display in the instrument cluster.

Thanks for the video, did you retain steering wheel controls? Did you need an additional adapter for the steering wheel controls or did it work out of the box?

Out of the box working, all steering wheel controls and the mini display in the dash all work.

You mentioned in the video that you previously installed a reverse camera into the car and made a video of that. Has the video since been removed?

@@StevePond I am contemplating installing the reverse camera but not sure if it is worth the effort. I would fancy a motorised one in the boot logo though.

Did you splice in the illumination wire to dim the screen once the lights come on? I would like the dimming to operate automatically as the lights do on the auto switch position. Where did you get the feed from?

Hi Joseph, no I didn't do that, I run everything in Dark mode so the screen brightness doesn't bother me.

@@StevePond having used it a few days now I notice the screen dims with the car lights from the can bus, the less remain fully illuminated, I might just live with it. Thanks for the info

Hi Steve Is it possible to use my existing gps aerial and plug straight into head unit or do i need similar to the adaptor that you used for the dab. Also was the unit from China Thanks Andy

Yes, assuming the plugs are the same size, you might need an adaptor, but you should be ok.

Hi Steve, I just bought xtron android 12 for my VW touran but I can seems to get the VW badge/ logo on the screen. Can you please let me out in getting the badge on. Many thanks Dan.

Hey bud, you have to put the logo you want on a usb and then select it to come on the start screen.

Sorry I didn't see this question, the option is in the factory settings, which is the last item in settings, the code to enter it is 126, you can choose your badge in there.
