Tip from Australia. Put a pole with a lockable hinge on the roof at the back and the front. Have it so that a rope or cable can run from pole to pole. Then drape a tarp, groundsheet or whatever over the caravan. Keep the fabric off the skin of the caravan. Your objective is airflow across the surface of the skin and no direct sunlight. You will be astonished how much cooler and liveable the caravan will be. Should reduce the temperature by 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

Just might not want to run the roof a/c if it is covered because it requires airflow to work.

Yeah, what happened to the canopy you used when you were working on the truck, also what bout the canopy on the trailer? No sense letting all that stuff bake in the sun and any shade on the outside makes for cooler air going in.

My wife and I are enjoying your shows and your Terry remodel. A word of caution, IMHO. Most of these trailers and "weak" in the chassis capability. Axles are close to being under rated for weight, bushings are dry, wheels are out of alignment, and on and on. I'd think all the improvements you are making are adding weight to the unit. You may want to consider upgrades on the axles, springs (to include wet bushings) and shock absorbers. The weight capacities for the trailer should be noted on the outside of the trailer somewhere. And realize the dry weight noted does not include full tanks. Water and waste weigh a lot! Best of luck to you and I look forward to your next video!

Trent and Allie....as 2 of your longtime followers and with some Sage Wisdom...i Highly highly concur what Rob here is recommending. I've renovated alot of homes and 2 of the most Important things are 'Structure (in this instance, frame, axles, bushings, leaf bars) and Roof'. Google YT around..you'll deduce how to fix 'some' of it yourself much cheaper than a mechanic....

I started painting the ceiling with an airless hand sprayer. After three square yards my arm was about to fall off, Went to the equipment rental store and got an airless sprayer that pulled paint out of a can on the floor. Previously I had covered the floor in plastic so when I kicked the can of paint there was a half inch of paint slowly flowing toward the edge of the plastic. Spread cat litter on the puddle to soak it up. OK, back to painting. Then I stepped in the puddle so my foot has paint and cat litter on it. But, I can't stop until I am finished with 1000 square feet of ceiling the walls, and seven gallons. Washed the foot and went to the car to sit down for a nap. Wife and two kids went to grandma's for the day. I called them and said to go out for dinner and stay for the night, see you in the morning.

He also has had good luck installing sheet vinyl tile from a big box store. Several brands have a 40 year guarantee and look identical to hardwood flooring. No worries about anything yucky leaking down between laminate joints.

Fairly new to your channel but love how well you work together! Been married 45 years and we have never worked that well together. You are both such kind souls and a sense of humor makes all the difference. Hubby and I get along better now than ever, though, even put in a channel drain in front of our new pole barn shed and almost had fun doing it. Cant wait to see the final product and am enjoying the grand transformation. Keep smiling!

May of 1978, our family relocated not far from where ya’ll are...Fillmore, UT. Hubby was working in oilfield on a geothermal well, I believe. So I packed the 4 girls and myself, we only took summer clothes...sandals, shorts, light jackets, etc. Somewhere in the first week of June it snowed a foot and a half! 😳 And my husband got his company truck stuck going to location. He called and wanted me to drive our 4-wheel drive out to Cove Fort, so he could use it. The 4 girls, ages 3 months to 6 had to spend the entire day huddled around a pot belly stove in a little country store, with nothing to eat but candy bars, chips, cokes, etc. They were bouncing off the walls, but I digress! So, I’ll testify that Utah has some pretty crazy weather fluctuations! You guys are doing a great job on this project! I love all your choices so far. Good call on the stain color!

Took us back to the start of our rv rebuild; Great memories were made! So THANK YOU for giving us some ideas and also some laughs while we enjoy our early morning coffee. You 2 are amazing!!!

It’s such a nice face. The beard is partially concealing it. The beard holds in some heat. It also holds other stuff like food, micro particles of who knows what, etc. Trent is a grown man that can do what he wants, but not everyone is a fan of beards. I suppose that a beard in the winter makes sense to some, but sweat, and other things dripping from and clinging to a beard is not pretty. This is just one persons opinion. Terry seems to be getting more beautiful by the minute!

Terry is really shaping up. 😍 It’s heating up here in Texas as well. I’ve stopped my afternoon walks (only walking in the mornings). Finally caught up with my viewing. I got behind because I had to call an ambulance four times for my parents in the last few weeks. During a pandemic is not a good time to have a family member in the hospital. Can’t wait for the next video. 😁

Try to find and purchase cool rag. They are so awesome they keep the body feeling so much cooler. Wet them and drape around your neck even in the worst heat you feel so much cooler. I wear mowing and weeding doing projects outside in this heat. They never get in the way or fall off. When they start to feel warm which takes quite some time even in the hottest southern weather shake it an reposition on your neck and it’s awesome. My daughter introduced me to it. I didn’t believe it at first. It’s amazing. I love how it keeps you feeling cool and never gets in my way. It drapes on the body and stays. It’s definitely worth a try. You’ll feel so much cooler.

The idea of not putting heating on the floor was a good choice as caravans generally stay warm anyway. Just put slippers on. I love the energy and positivity you both have. It makes a great start to my morning. The colour of the floors and bench tops are a really good match. I learned something from Allie about the pre-adhesive paint on the walls. Also the sealing Trent did on the fan, good advice there. I love watching this van rebuild and your ideas coming together. Keep up the great work. I’ll be watching 😊. ❤️ from Australia 🇦🇺

Project is looking good. That floating flooring needs an expansion gap near the walls/cabs of 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Cover it with quarter round. Especially in a trailer with hot and cold extremes having it tight like that seems like a good idea, but you'll get shrinkage, bowing, and warping. The foam underlayment would have helped insulate a bit and keep it from shifting. Used to sell the stuff for a living.
