According to world-renowned EMDR expert Dr. Laurel Parnell, in order for a client to heal from trauma, they must be comfortable going into horrific memories and feel safe reliving uncensored material. In this session, Dr. Parnell works with a client with a history of severe early sexual abuse from her grandfather. The client reported that the sexual abuse memories had been dissociated for 35 years and came back with the birth of her daughter. Watch as Dr. Parnell demonstrates the powerful modified EMDR protocol that implements powerful resources to help the client feel grounded and at peace as they process traumatic memories.

Great session but the challenge with this is what if the person does not have protective or nurturing people in their lives, for example if someone newly immigrated to a new country due to last remaining relative dying and aren't able to identify protective or nurturing people they currently have?

Do you use "slow tapping" -if so my slow tapper buzzes in a long buzz ( the slower I make it the longer the continuous buzz. Is that how other tappers are Mine is NeuroTek Copr. Advanced Tac/AudioScan Thanks

There are usually two switches, one for speed and the other for length of buzzing so it doesn't have to be like how you describe however it may be preferable as it is usually more soothing to have long and slow bls

@@katherinealvarez4900 read up on Wilhelm Reich and orgonomy. Mobilizing the eyes is a big part of orgone therapy, you can do it on your own without necessarily having to buy the whole theory behind it. You can do so by slowly drawing circles with your eyes, expressing emotion through the eyes in front of a mirror, focusing and unfocusing them, closing them as hard as you can and ripping them open etc all while working with your breath. It helped me a lot Actually EMDR was developed decades ago in that context by Dr. Barbara Goldenberg.

The point of being with the right therapist is that the healing happens with the relationship with that person AND with EMDR. Because a great deal of trauma is relational-based, the most optimal and long-lasting healing process is relational. And by the way, not everyone charges the earth....
