Damn, the idea of making the stars more dense in the center and fading as they move outward made a big difference. That's the nicest star headliner I've seen just because you executed that idea.

No wonder rolls royce charges it's customers $12,000 for it.

If you are watching this as a diy cause you want to do it, be careful with fiber optics they dont have a great bend radius they crack easily.

A shotgun at 45 yards would make a nice pattern.

I did this to my Honda Civic and it transformed the car at night time! Definitely worth it. But I would invest in a better light system because mine only lasted 5 months

tip for stopping the fibres becoming such a mess when installing the fibre optics to the roof lining, cable tie them together and pull them out 1 by 1 so you dont get and spare ones laying around.

Yea, so let everybody how it goes splicing all the strands to “run them to the trunk”. I work with communication grade fiber optics and even with the old om1 plastic led optimized which is likely what that stuff is, splicing is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Now if you have a fusion splicer than your in business but one of those will ser you back around 30 grand. I did a table in some of the new om5 50 micron glass and actually polished all of the ends and properly cleaved the strands instead of cut and its crazy. When you polish and cleave them the lazer optimized really stands out like no other. I had to diffuse the transceiver in order to get it to not blind you. It still is powerful enough to act like 1000 little flashlights. And where i coupled the strands to a multimode ribbon you can control each of the lights with a pc if you matrix it all out. Write your name or draw a big frowny face. Is cool. I programmed the table to light like placemats.

Just my opinion but.....you should have only poked the fiber optics through maybe 3 or so inches to leave the extra slack for the box to reach the trunk or at least to mount it under the rear dash. Looks insane and great work man!!

Did you after the video use A voltage converter from 12 to 230 where the generator is running on? - Did you glued all the 200 threads with the glue gun, and how much did you use so the threads don't coming loose?

Might do this in my Soarer... I think the sun/moon roof will compliment it, especially at night.

I work for a company that makes acoustic sound panels. We do the same thing. 4x8 ft fiberglass insolation with black fabric wrapped. Then mark up a design on the back and start poking. Lots of time but its deff worth it once its done.

Helped a friend install this, after hot gluing, used nail clippers to get a flush cut, came out great

Suspend the fiber above your work area vertically. Tied to a string or masking tape. Spread out the fiber ends and install! No knots, no fibers all over the place, just neat clean and time consuming fun 🔥

It’s just tedious, not difficult. A headliner is not even a necessity for your vehicle! If it takes you a month to do this, it wouldn’t even matter! 🤷🏿‍♂️ Be a goal-accomplisher, not a self-discourager! 👍🏿

As a newcomer who has never seen any of your videos, I have a few first impressions to tell: The things you do honestly look awesome, I mean just this one for example - sick result and all, but the video could have been a lot shorter, 10 minutes at max. It got boring very fast, so I just skipped through 3/4 of the it. I understand I am only an individual and long-term fans probably care about that "filler" more, but this editing style has discouraged me enough to lose interest in the channel. Hope these insights were helpful, please take them with a grain of salt, thank you

Tie a rubber band or zip tie them together near the ends and pull the lines out on by one as you need them and tighten the rubber band or zip tie depending on what you use to keep them from jumbling up into a crazy knot, Im doing this two weeks from now on my silverado standard cab

Yes I recommend better light gen. Did not take the headliner outside the car. Used heavy kitchen scissors faster cutting the light fibres. Mine has black liner. Was about ten hours total with wife helping. Was her new Toyota Looks great. Handcraft is Soulcraft. Thanks

syringe needle my friend, poke from the bottom, put the strand in the hollow needle opening, push in for a foot, pull needle out, knot the optic end of the strand and repeat.
