Hi I've got same x5 and wanted to upgrade the head unit and camera doest the unit have also GPS build in or? If yes can you list all the things I've going to need thanks

This one was straight forward to be honest other then having to strip one side of the interior lol but yes you are right that if you have the single din stereo as standard it is a lot easier to plug and play but I didn’t have to cut or modify anything to get my one in, all bits that I bought made it so it would go straight in all be it very time consuming 😁👍🏼thank you

Thank you I’m glad it’s been of help, I used a iso adaptor, from The 6m cable when you run it to the front of the car you plug that into a iso adaptor I got from eBay with the steering wheel function added to it, then that plugs straight into the stereo, I hope that kinda makes sense, it’s hard to try and explain it lol

Thanks for the info. My next question was going to be about the steering wheel function. Would you mind sharing which iso adapter you used? It will probably be different for my stereo, but might help me figure out which one I need.

@@ConversationWay Thank you for the reply and the link to the item you used! I went with the Axxess AXSWC, but I think it will do the same thing. I don't think I'll be able to use the phone buttons and functions on the steering wheel, but the double din head unit I'm installing will have Apple CarPlay that I can use instead. Thanks again!

The fascia plate is a double din version because the single din version doesn’t work so you kind of have to make it fit bit it leaves a slight gap but having the screen pushed most of the way in you can’t see behind it anyway
