Happy new year! I’ve had them on the machine for a few weeks and they are awesome. Much more grip and floatation. You can run them over blacktop just don’t wanna turn cause it’ll shred the blacktop otherwise no complaints!

Hey, So I switched to steel tracks for the durability and more weight. I mainly work on dirt or in the woods. Plus with the tilt rotator having more weight on the bottom of the machine helps keep it more stable. As far as undercarriage goes everything here was the same. I didn’t install rock guards which I might do in the future. But if you are going steel to rubber track you’ll be removing rock guards. They just help keep rocks out of the idler/sprocket area

The steels tracks are really nice. However this year I have run into a lot Of jobs with blacktop driveways. So I’ve gotta order rubber pads for them. Wish I didn’t have to cause there’s nothing like the grip you get from The steel treads

I just bought a 6 ton (13,000lbs) compact excavator with thumb, blade and two buckets. It comes with rubber tracks. I first wanted the steel tracks but for town work the rubber tracks are much nicer and suffice. Also better for moving around on our property (not so great in the woods but overall better I think).

Hey, so I did not have them made. They were produced by Mclaren industries. They make or market a lot of tracks, and attachments. I have zero complaints. They were tough and held up good. I recently sold them and went back to rubber. The only reason I switched back is because now I’m doing a lot of small residential jobs where I’m constantly on blacktop or concrete. The steel tracks I had to lay rubber mats down to cross delicate surfaces. I know you can get steel tracks for smaller kubotas about the size of your taki. But I don’t necessarily know where to tell you to go. I’m sure a quick search will give you some leads thanks for watching!

@@AbramsExcavating any reason you didn't get bolt on rubber pads for the steel tracks? I was considering that, I rent my KX080 to a guy that demo's alot of single wide mobile homes with it and so it needs the rubber when in the mobile home park but the tracks have been ending up with alot of cuts. We have made it about 1100 on the OEM but they are close to done.

These are a little wider. You can get real wide ones aswell. I feel that these tracks “drive” nicer than the rubber. They don’t seem to make the machine work as hard when you are turning. They also have a ton more grip. I’d strongly suggest these if you don’t have to work on delicate ground often.

Dang sorry to hear that! I used mclaren industries. They were great to work with. I actually just sold my steel tracks a few weeks ago. Went back to rubber because I’ve been digging pools all year and got tired of throwing mats around to protect the blacktop driveways. But I have zero complaints about the steel tracks from mclaren!

@@AbramsExcavating The work we do with this machine, steel tracks will be perfect. The machine has a Roto Tilt as well. And I have a jcb hydradig with rubber tires to cover asphalt if needed and it has a Steelwrist. Many of the local contractors are hesitant to get into tiltrotators but they change the machine in so many ways I find it hard to understand why more are not using them. Thanks the the company name I will check them out.

I didn’t show it on camera but I did check all the rollers. This machine gets a thorough pressure wash almost every week. I’m an owner operator so I try my best to keep my equipment in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition

as far as work done with the machine it has doubled its purchase price in the first year. its a great machine. has around 4000 hours now and still going strong.

They were around $4000 when i bought them. But prices went up have not checked lately

I paid around $4000 for them in 2021
