Tim, what type of sealant are you applying to the seams of the pipes? Your project is massive :)
@cameronnerdin49105 жыл бұрын
It is pipe lube, there are two rubber o-rings and if you dont lube them the leak or twist roll or tear. I hate using that stuff, I have used wd40 on smaller pipes but the big ones you have to use that lube to ensure the rings dont roll or get damaged.
@chrisroach63715 жыл бұрын
Just out of curiosity why did you not put stone under and around your structures and pipe?
@letsdig185 жыл бұрын
water flows through gravel, if you do that the pond will leak around the pipe and never hold water
@phillipbonner52155 жыл бұрын
Yeah the three of you together do some really good work. Is that a glue substance you're putting into joints or just a sealer?
@jasonking29435 жыл бұрын

@phillipbonner52155 жыл бұрын
@@jasonking2943 yeah that would make a lot of sense a grease.
@cameronnerdin49105 жыл бұрын
it is a soapy lube to help the huge oring seals slide and not roll twist or tear. I hate it. on big pipes you have to use it on smaller ones I use a can of wd40 way easier on the wife and laundry at the end of the day. LOL brush helps.

I remember well the days of having to use that pipe butter to put the gasketed pipes together, it didn't matter how you did it, that crap got on everything and everywhere- it messed up some good work clothes. One day we were doing some irrigation work on a field and had to tamp the pipes to 100% compaction. After we had left, they called and said we didn't pack it well enough and had to go back. The next day, at the end of the day, the boss sends me and the Guatemalans to rent another tamper and pack it better. We pick up the tamper, get to the job throw it on our ditch and turn it on. The tamper hops about 5 times and the motor comes off of the tamper and into my hands. WTF, I am thinking as I take a look at what caused this. They must have just worked on it and had failed to put any of the bolts back in at that vital connection point. How inna hell it was man-handled into and out of the truck without falling apart, I have no idea. So we stuck it back in the truck, drove back across town to the shop and had to do it again the next day. That was a damn frustrating job getting the pipe packed to their satisfaction. They even made us rent a conveyor trencher so we didn't leave loose dirt on top of their field; had to shuttle the dirt off, then shuttle it back to backfill. This was all for the irrigation on a professional soccer field/track and field sporting complex.
@cameronnerdin49105 жыл бұрын
Yeah i hate that pipe lube. ruins clothes. On smaller pipes I started to use a can of wd40, but on the big ones you have to use that shit.
@brownwarrior68675 жыл бұрын
Might be an idea for Timmy to count the ribs from the end of the first pipe when he finds the point of balance on it. That way he finds the sweet spot every time 😉 Time is money ...
