I always say that best way of knowing if something is any good or not is to try it for yourself. Now as a disclaimer, I was not paid by DiscreteHeat for this content, but they did provide me with the kit and assistance with the installation.
🤔 If you have any questions on the product or installation leave a question in the comments! 👇
Watch till the end to see what I thought of it all now that it's in my own house! 😅
For further instructions check out the official guidelines here www.discretehe...
Or view DiscreteHeats channel here / @thermaskirt
If you want to know more about ThermaSkirt you can visit the website www.discretehe...
The skirting board heating will be running directly off my 6kw Daikin air source heat pump, and I will be integrating Salus controls so that the system is fully customisable with the app.
We'll be doing a follow up video in the winter to evaluate the performance and get my official feedback, so if you're not subscribed make sure you do!

Just about to DIY my own Thermaskirt. It is very elegant. One thing that is in the video but perhaps not emphasised enough is that it obviates the need to run pipes to individual rads. This is a tremendous benefit when retro-fitting an older property. The nearest pipes-from-heat-source can be identified and the Thermaskirt can originate at that point. This saves chasing, joist cutting and inefficient routings of pipes under suspended floors. The labour required for these conventional solutions is potentially a major added benefit I have no relationship with Discreteheat apart from as customer. To date they have struck me as a 5* company; extremely professional, modern and responsive.

I like how the industry moving away from radiators, infrared heating, underfloor and now skirting too.. looking forward to seeing houses with little pipes on display and rads everywhere. Skirting nice for that plaster damp bridging and coverage on all walls to assist keep walls warm too from damp. Also love the play at the joints for expansion. Door areas make me nervous as that looks to be the likeliest place for something to come a cropper but honestly they made it look easy! Presumably you can run that up your stairs too and ideal for small bathrooms and save having to drill holes in kitchen units etc. Definitely way forward im just keen to see how it performs under differing pressures low and high.. and whether leaks appear at joints as a result. 😊

When you consider the Therma skirt and radiators. One important thing to consider that Therma skirt had many valves connecting as it’s easy to has leaking. I had new Therma skirt installed for my house last year Dec. 1st month I had 2 leaking issues due to the valves. And this year I got the same problem.

Great vid, the beauty of this system is that one is not limited where you place furniture in a room and as most of the heat losses is through a wall (not only windows) the heat will not disappear behind the curtain then out through the window, I had a similar system 40 years ago, but not as neat as the Thermaskirt the system I used was Myson and it used convection other than radiation interesting to know how they compare.

Only downside visually was next to boiler, where Alan had a nice looking cooper pipes and then plastic pipes and not looking straight and horizontal. Apart from that, great idea and definitely will heat room quicker and more even.

This seems utterly amazing I did wonder how they'd work in conjunction with radiator. I only want them "with radiaors" because I want fancy Jaga Strada hybrid radiators that can cool too

I'm looking to replace my gas boiler with an ASHP in my current renovation project. I have solid, plastered walls and a solid floor. Whilst I'd like UFH I don't want to dig up floors or lose head height in doorways. This might be a solution....However, what happens in a kitchen with fitted cabinets along most walls?

The bm3 that I have been trying to install for the past few hours without any success have different wall fixings, they fit perfectly in my hand but it’s impossible to fix it on the wall!!! So worried right now, seems like we need the black wall fixings, which didn’t come with the kit!

First problem is, when people have enough money to be able to afford such a thing, along with all the heat pumps, tanks and the space they take, the last thing they want is plumbers fitting their skirting boards! £1/2 million hose, and every joint on the skirting board stands out a mile and looks like a small version of something used in NHS buildings. And how do you touch up scuffs on powder coated aluminium? And that rubber seal on the top will shrink and deform.
