I've been using this jack for the past 3 years no trouble at all, it's a high lift and low profile so it will work perfect on the BMW and the Jeep. Get a 2x4 and cut it into 4" sections you can stack on the jack head if needed. Nice job.If the chorme keeps pealing or you want to protect the wheels for winter, you could plasitdip them. I know it's considered tacky, but it's good protection.

i've had inch and a half wheel spacers on my 2006 jeep commander now for over 6 years and everything in fine.

When you have a short jack, the easiest way jack up a taller vehicle is to use a piece of 4x4 pressure treated wood 6" to 8" tall on top of your jack plate. It's more stable than putting wood supports under your jack.

Did a great job all around, never knew you were supposed to put antisieze on the back of the spacer like that. About the correct spacer size, you should go out as much as you go up to correct for the change in geometry. I have a 2.5" lift on my KJ, so I went out with 1.25" spacers (1.25x2=2.5).

Youre supposed to put the locktite on the threaded bolt right where the nut will be torqued. The way you did it by the time you thread the bolt on there all the locktite will be left on the end of the bolt instead of where it needs to be. lol

Brandon, just came across your videos today. I have a 2006 WK Jeep and your videos are awesome and inspiring. You have a lot of projects completed that I intend to do. Particularly I want to replace the shocks on my vehicle because every speedbump is a rollercoaster these days (154k miles). Thanks for making these videos and showing somebody who doesn't know anything about cars what these different modifications are and how realistic it is to actually do them. I noticed the topsail shirt in the vid, are you from NC? I'm in Raleigh. Also, have you had to do any repairs to your Jeep's AC? These WK Jeeps are notorious for the plastic handles breaking too. I've already replaced the 4 of my interior handles. There are smaller known issues such as the climate control illumination (around the knobs and various other symbols) having their lights go bad. Have you had similar issues?

That jack is inadequate, as you acknowledge. @1.30 it must be taking about 1.5T, effectively lifting both sides but with the effort from one side. I always use two hydralic jacks to lift both sides (or front and back) evenly together as far as possible, and they are 2.5T ones with a much bigger footprint than the one you are using. I always have a wooden pad on the jack lifting head too, softwood about an inch thick ; the jack head makes indentations in it that keeps it located.

Spray some 303 or some sort of undercarriage spray in the wheel well or even diluted perl. Will make them look darker and cleaner.
