Hello, nice tutorial. Hey make a follow up! Everyone wants to see the end results and hear about your opinion on the different settings.🎉

I just installed the BC racing coilovers via DMMworks. Pretty nice, and a good price too. The adjuster on the top really makes a difference. full soft setting gives you a factory default ride. The spring settings come pre-set, you just adjust the body length to set your ride height (rotate shock body)

I was kind of anxious to see the finished ride height, did not see anymore videos. About what did you end up with on the ride height fender/wheel gap? Do you remember the measurements between spanner nuts if that's where you measured? Got an updated pic of it? Thanks for the video it was very clear and sound was good.

Do you have problems with the car "fishtailing" on straight aways when you are hard on the gas? I can't stop mine from fishtailing (bought used molded to 340hp at wheel) , still has stock suspension. Just curious if these would help with the car fishtailing when I floor it

These do help some, but there can also be other factors that contribute to fishtailing related to the rear differential movement under load. My rear driver strut was leaking bad and even with just nearly stock ride height with the ZZPs it helped. However, I’m currently running stock HP (being a CA resident) plus automatic transmission and I can still fishtail the rear if I try. BUT adjusting the damping of the ZZP rear struts helped stifle it a lot. They aren’t a cure-all for fishtailing, but can do a lot to make it way more predictable.

I added 1 ¼ wheel spacers. Giving her a larger footprint. It helped a lot.

nice video, thanks.. do these improve the ride quality ?

Ride quality is subjective and based on a number of factors that change based on the environment. These coil overs are adjustable over an extremely wide range of operation so if you want a soft cushy ride then you can turn them all the way soft and get that type of ride quality, but if you want them to be extremely responsive and stiff then you can turn them full stiff and knock your teeth out. Another factor of ride quality are the tires and wheels that can have just as much of an effect on the feel as a good coil over. I have mine set to 1/4 range toward softest setting, but if my wife is going to drive the car I will turn them all the way soft and she is happy with it.

They are great still, but my kappa is not my daily so I haven’t really even broken them in. LoL. But spring is soon and we’ll be canyon carving on the weekends soon.

What dampening adjustment did you end up using? Mine came on the softest setting
@theatomproject007

I'm running 4 clicks in from the softest setting currently because the roads where I live in Southern California were wrecked from all of the rain and cold we have had over the past 4 months. However, I did run them much stiffer initially (4 from stiffest setting) and they were fine for the most part, just really stiff on the bumps. We have asphalt everywhere and its cracked every 10ft and heaving down one road near my house so the difference between those two settings is; tolerable noise telling you there are bumps under your tires vs. feeling like all of the bolts in the vehicle are going to back out on their own. Since they are so easy to adjust it's worth getting used to the range and setting them based on the road conditions you expect to see most often. Additionally tire and wheel package contributes to the overall suspension compliance so what works for one person on stock wheels and tires will not be the same for someone else on larger heavier wheels and lower profile tires.

@@theatomproject007 I just finished my install and ended up at 4" front and back on my Solstice Coupe. 3 inches in the back had me almost rubbing the fender liner. I started with 10 on the soft side for dampening. Still stiffer than my stock coilovers, but feel great. I appreciate your video, definitely helped me install these today.

Kappa ZZP Coilovers are currently in stock 11/15/2023. Just in time for making off season upgrades to your kappa. Well I'm in CA desert so we don't have an off season for convertibles, but I understand that some places actually have more than two seasons (summer and windy) so they store their kappas for the winter?

Yea, this is more of a general overview of the process. It's hard to put a DSLR camera in the wheel well at the same time as I'm working. If you have specific questions please feel free to ask here or directly to my facebook. Also ZZP has great technical support so always refer to them for the most up to date procedures and techniques for installing their parts.
