This video show automotive repair professionals how to remove and replace the front air spring on the 164 chassis Mercedes-Benz ML and GL Class vehicles.

How do you get the cap removal tool? Does it come with the shocks/springs?

The cap removal tool was designed by Adam Arnott to make the removal and installation easier and comes with the air spring in the box.

How to know if shocks needs replacing too besides just replacing the air spring bag??

Worn out air springs can do additional damage to the shock damper as it is forced to try and do the job of the spring and damper by holding up the heavy vehicle. You should inspect the damper by looking for oil on the outside and doing a bounce test where you push down on each corner and look to see if the corner bounces more than twice before coming to a complete stop. If so the damper may be worn.
