My husband got SMP done a year ago for his receding hairline and honestly it looks great! He keeps his hair cut low and you can’t even tell it’s not his actual hairline. He was very self conscious about his receding hairline but this gave him his confidence back! I would definitely recommend it, it has held up well over the past year.. and if need be he can easily get it touched up.

People can be real cruel and being in college and going bald at that age was real devastating for him - We always told him to just shave it off as he had the face/frame to pull the bald look off but he had full head of long blond hair to basically looking like a 60 year old in a year. @@sergiomorales567 Right. I understand what it is. But it’s also needles being stuck into your scalp. When you do that with a .3 or longer dermaroller, it can stimulate the hair follicles to start working again. So my question was really how long the needle is that is used in this procedure…or how deeply it goes into the scalp.

Interesting method and effective. Even if the hair starts returning to the scalp by some future miracle this will take a back seat and slowly fade away. My cousin’s husband has alopecia and I really didn’t notice it until told he did but I know people can be sensitive and some lack confidence from hair loss despite being reassured they look good like they are. Different does not mean lesser to me but society is judgmental and shallow to a large degree. Also, Dr. Linkov, you truly look great with or without hair and this being the only way I’ve seen you, it somewhat throws me to see you with it. How funny is that?
@MotoMiles
@MotoMiles Жыл бұрын
Definitely. I noticed when I had a hairpiece. guess you could call it a “man unit” it looked very natural it is even faded like a low fade into my head. I got compliments daily . I got flirted with constantly it was very different. And the second I just started walking around just with my head bald I noticed a automatic halt of some of that interaction out there. And I will admit it hurt my confidence because I thought maybe that it didn’t matter but I was a very drastic experience without it. So I think as many people say they like having a baldhead socially especially with some women they are not all into it. And I get lots of them on forums that they say that they are into it .. however out in the world I don’t see them as much.

Appreciate the cool video! I was considering hair transplant, but for me I got too stressed about potential side effects for hair loss medication. I got smp 1 year ago very happy about it. Not 1 person has guessed its fake yet! Still love your channel and how you show people this is an option as well. Clearly you are about the patients and people and aren't just money hungry. You guys have no idea how much SMP will SAVE someone's life. I have talked to men that are anti depressants due to they hair issues. It is really that bad for some men. This is not the end all be all. This is just a option. Especially the ones that are not candidates for hair transplants and are just not truly ready. Imaging being 14 or 15 years old and having alopecia areata. Sometimes, things are easier said then done for most people. But for some of us, we just want to feel whole again.

I feel for the baldies, im 41 and have had finasteride sat in my draw for the last year and not taken it as i currently have other medical issues, im a little worried. I was on the bus the other week coming back from hospital and seen this school kid about 13 years old completely bald, i still dont know what he had as he looked healthy but no hair at all :( i still have some hair left and it really made me realize 'yet again' just how lucky i am even to have the remaining hair im holding onto. People will make fun, people wont care, but even though i dont wear hats at all and dont let it bother me to much in the world, it still sucks to lose it and if there was a cure tomorrow i would have my hair back in a heart beat, to many negatives being bald. All we can do it keep holding on and maybe 1 day things will change, not just for me but for the future generations of fellow baldies :) i like this Dr Linkov so thought i would drop a sub and comment to say hi from Manchester England, have a good 1 ✌

I had this done as an alopecia areata patient. I regret it. The ink faded super fast, it was invisible in the sunlight. It was pretty easy to see the difference between ink and actual hair. The pics you see online are altered to make it look as good as possible with lighting and it will not look that way in the real world. Unless you live by the facility going for touchups is a hassle. Lastly it is crazy expensive. They want to make it seem medical so they can charge a ton when really it is just a tattoo. I know I sound bitter and I am but when doing research on this I don’t think there anyone discussed a down sides. I did not work with the company in this video.

@@ricomajestic My partner is bald and very handsome with it. He didn't have a job for the first three years we were together through not fault of his own, so yes people (me at least) find bald men attractive when they have nothing financial or statue wise to offer to a partner. And you'll have to believe me when I say I had my pick of men. We've had for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health (well, more just the poorer and sick in reality) and I wouldn't swap him for a big lottery win although if I could have both I'd say yes please. The trouble with SMP is that over time - as is the case with a tattoo - fine detail is lost as the immune system breaks down the ink. What starts as fine, clear lines or dots becomes more and more blurred over time. The illusion of a crisp buzz cut is lost.

My brother had this done. When I first saw it, I looked up and thought, wow, I didn't realize my brother had a hairline like that. I was genuinely going to suggest that he grow it out a bit because it looked real IMO. But, I learned later, when his wife joked about it that he came home after getting it done and apparently it was so noticeable that she grabbed "sand paper" and scrubbed his head for an extensive period of time to diminish the look. P.S., a loved one should never joke about things like this. While everyone might have a quick laugh about it, the person that had the procedure could likely suffer serious emotional trauma. Nobody should be made fun of because of a physical issue, especially when it is clear they are so sensitive about it that they are seeking help.

Fascinating video, well done! However, I would've loved to have seen a discussion about FUE and FUT hair transplants combined with SMP. You two would've been the perfect people to discuss the subject. I know that there are SMP treatment options for people with thinning hair all over (kind of like how a lot of people end up looking after a hair transplant), especially if covering a larger area. Couldn't SMP be the perfect compliment to such a hair transplant? Please do a follow-up video on the subject!
@artbrutnewyork
@artbrutnewyork 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! FUR/FUT+SMP discussion would be great! Often times I see SMP on men to simulate the buzz cut look, but rarely any videos about using SMP for creating the illusion of density for men with longer hair who have had FUE/FUT procedures.
@harpoon_bakery162
@harpoon_bakery162 2 жыл бұрын
I think it would make FUE much harder when there are SMP dots all over the place. I think those two procedures are polor opposite one another. I think if a man or woman want their partners to be able to feel something on their head, it would make sense to stick to FUE/meds/PRP or things like that, if they just want the scalp to look full and not have the 3D effect of full, and not care about a partner freaking out when they feel it is smooth up there, then SMP is for that person for sure.
