I've called 4 times and never got an answer. One time I was on hold for an hour.

I'm pretty early too but it's pissing me off how ppl are commenting "First coment, second comment, notification squad etc." like do y'all even know what this video is about??? that's actually disrespectful

They told me my life wasn't in immediate danger, and told me to hang up so they could help people who needed it.

I was on the golden gate bridge and people yelled at me to jump. I was just out for a jog.

I used to call them a lot but they never used to pick up and I used to feel so alone most of the time I just ended up getting sent to hospitals for my depression and stuff but I am so glad that this man decided not to kill himself everybody is special in their own way and you are worth it I don't personally feel that way just yet but I hope that one day I'll be able to get there it's just really hard to get through the days when I don't even want to live

I feel so happy that people still care about others. So wholesome. I called them recently and they helped me through an issue I was having. The suicide health one is one of the best things humanities, ever created.

I called the hotline recently and I met the kindest guy. I had hurt myself but he was so nice and caring. I’m so glad I did when I was afraid I’d get the cops called on me. Their all about consent on their actions and wether to take action

Don’t call unless if you want the police at your house.

That’s awesome that it helped you! I had a really low point in my life last year and I called the Suicide Hotline....the lady hung up on me so If I ever feel that down again they’re the last people I’m going to.

Everyone should do like this, don't being close door, but also sharing what's your problem, and they can help you pass through the stressness of it.

Some people in the comment section really piss me off with their behaviour. This man reached out for help outside his circle so he didn't have to see the people he cared about having to deal with such information that might make them think differently about him or make them blame themselves. Some of these people have no shame with what they say. As for the people suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts, it's alright, you'll be alright. You can get through this. If today is the darkest, tomorrow will be lighter. And for the people that tried calling the suicide hotline but they never answered or told you they couldn't help you, just know that there are other ways to help yourself. Sometimes it's good to let go and find a way to get it out in a different way than harming yourself.

i lived a passed life that i didnt learn from when i wasnt even born my father was killed during a school shooting so i was born my mother has got a boy friend my sister and i have different fathers hers is alive she plans to track him someday, 24 foster homes/ 7 years later i was adopted by two kind people they changed my life and i would be lost if they were to leave me this song still reminds me of the day one of my foster father was shot and killed by a intruder that broke into my foster home i hid under a table and watched as they tore my home apart i love my parents very much, as i love one of my foster brothers, we lived in providence RI we went to William debate elementary school we would walk to school everyday they walked be hind me but some man grabbed me and started running my foster brother was stabbed saving my life i still miss him and everybody i lost in my life i want anybody who's here to know NO MATTER "HOW MUCH YOUR SIBLING HITS YOU OR HOW THEY YELL AT YOU OR TREAT YOU THEY WILL CLIMB EVERY GOD DAMN MOUNTAIN FOR YOU you can call this a lecture BUT I'M "15!!!!" "I don't look like the stereotypical person who has suffered from that" You never know just by looking at someone. Avicii, who probably had lived the happiest possible life in the world, suffered from depression and addiction before succumbing to the pressure of the depressive mind.

It make me happy to see he survived i muself have had suicidal thoughts and attempts. I never feel safe with calling the suicide hotline because i feel as if my parents might alienate me for having such thought and behaviours. So sometimes id tell a friend (but that goes downhill quickly and later wish i did swallow all of those pills cause i have siblings who dont understand how i feel so they judge me about it and call me a plethora of names) so then i would talk to my friends on a different place (Amino or discord) about whats happening and im glad they are there for me. . .tbh if it werent for them I wouldn't be here. . .

I'm close to the edge (not come on here for sympathy) and honestly can't think of anything worse than talking to a stranger about my feelings. Maybe the people that do, know that they need saving and it's great that there's people willing to help. I think though that when you've opted for the exit in a controlled and reasoned manner there's nothing anybody can say that will fix it. Keep up the good work for the guys that need the help.

I had pretty much the exact same experience, only I was a moron and tried to pretend that I was talking about a friend instead of myself. The hotline person who I was talking to saw through my bullshit within the first 2 minutes, and realized I was talking about myself and called me out on it which is where the tears started... I can fully credit this lifeline as the reason I am still alive today. I'm pretty sure the operator gave me a fake name, but I don't even care. I just wish I could repay him because I literally owe him my life

I just respect this guy for telling people about it. It's so sad the percent of people who call to the percent that just do it. This guy was very smart and I respect him and I think this needs to get father out there. It's amazing how this can help people and how the people that help on the other side of the phone don't care who you are, they just want to help and know you're going to be ok. Whoever came up with the idea of this, they are amazing.

I called when I was 15 because I was depressed and home alone with a firearm sitting at a table looking at it. No one picked up the phone when I called the hotline and it made me laugh. That was enough to make it through the night

I think we should have euthanasia clinics for people who are suicidal. This offers a medical way to put a patient to sleep so usable organs can be harvested before pulling the plug. Sounds good to me. What are their hours?

I called once and when they answered I told them I wanted to kill myself and the lady said, "and what am I supposed to do about dat?" in a condescending manner and like I was bothering her.

I have a friend who once said: "After fourth grade, I might commit suicide." He didn't commit. He is loved, even though he might not be the brightest. I once said about suicide. I didn't. I don't feel happiness a lot of time. The might be the possibility.

Even a broken clock may be right for 2 times a day. But I think many of people just confuse "a cry for help deciding my option to suicide" and "rational suicide".
