@@barbraevergreen Exactly! The expressions they make - shy and nervous - deliver a lot. And, in one of them, they send a message to fans who keep intruding on their lives: "Leave them alone" - Cait said. "Go look for your own friends" - message from Sam. It would even be nice if fans who are real fans would pay more attention to what they say, especially the messages they want to pass on.

bbria28 Unless you're self sabotaging because you're scared of how much you love the first. Things are never that simple. Sam's idea of flipping a coin is actually a good one, because you will likely form a preference as it flips. If you're disappointed with the result, you know to do the opposite of what the coin says. Though that's going with your feelings, and Caitriona's suggestion is going with practical pros and cons, which there is also something to be said for.

These questions were so obviously chosen to try to trip them up into saying something about their own relationship, since people like to think they’re together. That would actually really annoy me if I was Sam or Cait. It’s kind of not cool of that In Style interviewer to do that.

Good advice on relationships years ago from both Cait and Sam, who are like minded in their opinions on the given situations. The interview still holds true years later. Sam seems curiously uncomfortable and nervous with the line of questions. Possibly the interviewer senses that Sam in his inner heart carries a big secret crush about Cait. At this point seven years ago, Cait and future husband to be Tony McGill had been going out for awhile and were likely just engaged to be married, so she was recently “unavailable” and “off the marriage market” at the time as they say. Sam being a total gentleman, has resigned himself to “just being a close friend” with his Outlander co-star, and has resigned himself to the reality of the situation. Still, this interview does bring out that he “still carries the torch for her” in some way. He probably uses those real life feelings for Cait in the TV series to flesh out the loving feelings of Jamie for his soulmate Claire, and makes the actors all the more believable in their respective roles on the show. Hard on Sam though, I would imagine.

{chuckles} Age is truly just a number. I did crack up over some of the ways they answered these, but I wanted to put the following thoughts out there. I have been with my husband for over 24 years and married for over 22 years now. He is 15 and a half years older than I am. We married when I was 22, and he was almost 38. I'm 44 now, and he just turned 60. I love him more every day, and we are still greatly happy. You can't set a years apart measure for success on life and relationships. Some are good or bad no matter the age spread. There are many factors and things to consider when working on a relationship. I don't feel that age should ever been one of them.

I love the way Caitriona cringes when Sam says about the guy going to the gym is doing it for them and u don't want ur partner to look terrible. She knows it makes Sam sound really shallow!! So she steps in to save the day with a more appropriate answer.

I've always been a cut up and have also had and still do some for over 40 years love them all dearly and most of us get together with there wife's I get along with them also.Now my husband is a little more jealous but I. told him he's always been the only one and I just leave him at home when I see my friends men and women I graduated with.

I've read a report by a relative of somebody who works on the show, that they've been secretly dating for 2 years and that Sam even moved into Cait's flat. Supposedly the whole crew knows it, but they keep it a secret! This would explain why they hug between takes on the set and are so affectionate towards each other! If this report is true, I'm wondering if they would be able to keep their relationship a secret for the whole run of the series?
