Double framed walls have been around for some time. My father built his house with double frame rough 2x6 staggered in the late seventies. Crazy effective. And the sound barrier is nuts. However from a renovating perspective its an extremely trying ordeal. I love spray foam though. Insulation is quick, acts as a vapour barrier, and its fast without the itch. But you generally are covered in sticky crud and it is expensive. I am always interested in building methods in different areas. I noticed there was no poly layer. We dont usually see paperback insulation here. Does the paper act as your vapour layer?

I suppose it would be better to order a large amount of rockwool rather than pick it up a bag at a time as needed when one is actually getting to the insulation part of the project? 😂 because that’s more my jam with my little car that can realistically only carry one or two batts at a time!
