For all the people on MSI boards, PER PMIC thing is right above the Voltage settings, it just says Memory Voltage LINKED, so set this to UNLINKED and enter desired voltage in all fields below both in VDD and VDDQ fields. Kingston Fury RGB DDR5 5600 MHz on MSI Z690 Force WiFi board, latest bios (which has memory fine tuned update). and i9-12900K which is undervolted as well. Just loaded XMP settings, and 1.35V for the voltage. Stable in all the tests... Before the BIOS update I had so many issues, even with this method here. I had to manually set desired speed, but this in return also messed up the sub timings, so it was not stable, as of the latest BIOS update, as I sad, just XMP and 1.35V UNLINKED voltage and it works.

I have a i7 12700kf z690-F with 4x ram sticks: 2x adata xpg lancer 5200 mhz and x2 4800mhz Corsair Vengeance, i have mixed rams with different mhz because last year took me 4 months to build the pc, it was very hard to find gpu and other components, had to '' win queues '' to get ram, so after multiple attempts i ended up with 2 different rams. I couldn't find a solution for the DDR5 - XMP1 infinite boot so i did set auto and got default MHZ for 9 months. Today after watching your video and talked to friends last week, I decided to try it out,tthe volt change it didn't fix it but i found the solution: i did xmp-1 , AI OC up , frequency up to 4800mhz instead of 5200 or auto, it works perfectly. So basically the xmp1 setup was automatically set all rams at 5200 causing system being unstable, lowering the 5200 to 4800 and applying ai oc Now i have 4800 in my task manager instead of 3600-4000mhz, plus i can get 5000 aswell, it's a good solution. With XTU and AI OC I increased the CPU performance by an incredible amount . My GPU instead was already Overclocked with MSI afterburner with over 20k on time spy , it's a 3080 ti suprim x.

@DaftFader Жыл бұрын
DDR5 wasn't rushed, but it's implementation by Ram and Motherboard manifacturers was. DDR5 works 100% perfectly fine at THE CPU's designed frequencies. *XMP IS AN OVERCLOCK* , so there's no guarentee you will get it working at that speed as long as the CPU MC is still only rated for 4800MTs, which is currently the case with the latest line of consumer CPUs. So many people are experiancing issues because of a mix between companies' race for the top with crazy memory and cpu OC clocks out of the box, that just aren't stable aross all bins of cpu, and the consumer's lack of knowlage of what XMP actually is. Yes XMP normally works with 2 dimms, but the CPU's memory controller isn't designed to support them speeds, so it's hardly surprising issues are popping up everywhere, like when trying to OC not 2 but 4 dimms to >1.5x the CPU's maximum rated MC speed!! Even if the memory seller is rating it at that speed, as it's kind of miss-leading as no CPU manifacturer at the moment will guarantee anywhere near some of these speeds, even for 2 dimms, even if the ram can handle it fine (again DD5 wasn't rushed, it's highly advanced, and is in fact technologically AHEAD of the current CPUs limitations, which is exactly what you want from new tech). DDR5 is amazing tech, people are just too greedy, and because they see someone with a golden chip and crazy binned dimms hitting like 8000MTs with dual sticks, they expect every set of ram to behave the same way with their CPU even when "doubling" the stress on the MC with a four stick set up. It just doesn't work like this. You have to manage your expectations through understanding some of the limitations with current CPU design when it comes to implementing DD5 ram into a build. *ANYTHING OVER 4800MTs RUNNING ON DDR5 IS AN OVERCLOCK OF THE PROCESSOR'S MEMORY CHANNEL* The higher you go, and the more sticks you have per channel, the more stress you put the MC controller under, and on some of the less well binning CPU MCs even getting 4800MTs with 4 sticks of unmatched 4800 rated ram can be a challenge! Although tbf that is the worst combination for all variables, it puts things into perspective as far as the limitations of some CPUs memory controllers. It's all about managing expectations, and understanding the limitations of the current supporting technology.

I have an Asus TUF Gaming Z790 Gaming Wifi (bios version 0812) with 2x16gb kit of Corsair Vengeance (CMK32GX5M2B5600C36) and had an issue using that ram. I couldn't boot with default bios settings at all. I needed to remove 1 stick, boot in bios and activate XMP 1 or 2, shutdown and put back the second stick to even be able to setup the system. But even if I was able to make it work, I still had some system instability and your 2 settings help fix my constant game crashes. Thanks so much!!!

I tried two kits of 64 GB 5600 CL30 from G.Skill for a total of 128 GB. It booted at 5600 XMP with 4 sticks but insta errors in Memtest86. I tried lowering the frequency down to 4800 MHz and Memtest86 still errored but much less. Then I tried cranking the Memory Controller Voltage from the stock 1.24v to 1.31v and then it passed the 4 hr overnight test (128GB takes forever to test). However, Linpack tests would throw errors very quickly as its much harder on the memory controller. I had to lower it to 4400 MHz to be completely stable. But at that point, I just gave up exploring 4x 32 since going all the way down to 4400 was too much of a compromise and just resorted to sticking with 2x 32 and running the 5600 XMP profile - it was completely stable. That said, I recently started tweaking the 2x 32 and managed to get it stable at 6000 MHz after a lot of fine tuning. I had to increase the following voltages to get there: VDD/VDDQ: 1.25v -> 1.425v IMC Voltage: 1.24v -> 1.425v System Agent Voltage: 1.23v -> 1.28v VCCIN: 1.8v -> 2.0v Any of these missing results in instability. But with all of those, I am running 2x 32 @ 6000 MHz CL30 100% solid stable in all tests. Learned to tune exactly these voltages and the "safe ranges" from watching Buildzoid's DDR5 Overclocking guide video. Had I learned about this earlier, maybe I would have been able to get 4x 32 at a higher speed stable, but at the time I didn't have the luxury of time to learn all this stuff as I was within my return period for the other kit. I also learned that the TRUE test for memory + IMC stability is Prime95 Large FFTs. Any sign of problems show up within 3 - 40 minutes. Most problems show up under 60 seconds.

I found out what to do. In MSI BIOS, first click on Advanced Mode (hit F7). Then go to OC Settings, and scroll all the way down, until you find voltage settings. There, put DRAM Voltage and DRAM VDDQ to 1.3 Volts each. Then, there should be an option right below that says "link". That's where you put it to "unlink" and I don't remember the option name 100%, but i recall it being something with DRAM Voltage. Once it is unlinked, you have to set the 1.3 Voltage to the new options that appear. That is just so you set 1.3 volts to 1 ram stick, and 1.3 volts to the second ram stick (if you're running 2 sticks) Hope this helps anyone out there

As many others have said this fix has solved the boot loop issue! I was banging my head the wall for a month trying to figure out what was going on. Just built a new pc, 13900k with ASUS Z790H motherboard. I thought I had doa components so I replaced just about everything but of course it was still in a loop. What messed me up was I pulled the cmos battery out to restore bios settings but it was still stuck in a loop. I guess with this board even after pulling battery it will not restore bios, this can only be done by holding the reset bios button on the IO. I wish I had found this video. Literary took 2 minutes to fix it, I could not get the rated 6400mhz out of my ram at 1.40 volts but I was able to get 6000mhz. I could bump my voltage up to 1.45 and it would probably be stable but ASUS says don’t go any higher than 1.40 for daily use. This is a known issues with these boards but ASUS will not give a bios update to fix the issue, very frustrating!

For some other folks who run into this issue, 👉I would like to re-emphasize how important it is to pull your RAM out and put it back in. 👈 Just doing the memory voltage and PMIC tweaks alone did not get me to POST. If you can't post after switching these settings, turning off your PSU and draining power(hitting power button) doesn't work either, you HAVE to remove the RAM sticks.

Hey thanks for this. You noted that your 5600 ram has a stock voltage of 1.25v and that you set it .05v higher at 1.3v. I have 5200 Mhz ram rated at 1.2v. Should I use 1.3v or 1.25v?

I Just tried this with 64 GB Ram, DDR5 @ 6000 (4 sticks of XPG), didnt adjust voltages (voltages on latest bios update already higher than 1.3 as default) but changed the PMIC voltages from "Sync all PMIC's to "By Per PMIC" and worked first shot. have 12900K, Z690-F Mother board and again 4 sticks of XPG 16GB DDR5 Ram. Awesome it worked. Wondering if I should try again with having the PMIC voltages to Sync all (With XMP) but just going to leave for now as its working perfect here now. Thanks

The Gigabyte Aorus Master MB has User4 profile to set DDR5 params but for some reason it does save those 1.30V change it in BIOS before exiting. Any chance you could take a look? Thanks.

Didn’t work for me 😞 Just boot loops on my z690 hero. The voltage was 1.35 (set by mobo) when I tuned on XMP. Tried the other setting “per module” just can’t get past training the memory.
