Got a first hand demonstration of this at the Red Sea booth at Reef-A-Palooza (NY) this weekend. It looks very well engineered as discussed in the video, and the Red Sea rep basically tore it apart and put it back together in no time flat. The secondary sensor to detect a return pump shutdown/failure is also a great feature so the reefmat doesn't blow throw the whole roll of fleece.

Just got my installed. It is a great addition to my RedSea Reefer. I also have to mention it's a really good looking piece of equipment. I think its a great quality of life change for me, trying to keep up with sock changes. Would definitely recommend this, specially to RedSea owners. Thanks for the video.

Really loving the new direction of the channel! The infomercials are fantastic, even when disguised as educational content. Should put a playlist together for us to watch like late night reefing television 📺🤩.

I have mine a couple weeks now on my 300L tank and I really love it. Before it I used filtercups and had to exchange the filter floss every 3 days. My nitrate raised 1ppm every 2-3 weeks using that method. Now it stays under 10ppm without the need of water changes and uses 20-25cm of fleece daily, which gives a lifespan of about 4 months per roll.

@@mikes_reef_tank I´m doing 1,5-2cm but I think thats up to your preference. the smaller steps you make, the more constant the waterlevel in the reefmat will be

I have it installed (1 month) and it is awesome, only downpoint is the connecting black pipe, it makes a "lot" of trickling water noises. Everything else is miles away from a ClarySea or Arka Rollermat the Reefmat is definitly the best Rollermat you can buy at this moment.

@3:09 After using my ReefMat 1200 on my 150G tank for a few months now, I wish they gave the option to have lower micron fleece replacements. I miss my water being particle free from when I ran 50 micron filter socks and sometimes even 1 micron! The Clarisea uses 20 micron! My tank contantly has tons of particles floating around now after my "upgrade" and it's really noticable and annoying. At least give the consumers the option to have lower micron ratings!

I just installed the 1200 last night. I was super impressed with the design. I'm so glad I didn't have to get another Klir. The instructions could have been clearer but that is the only complaint I can muster.

Can this be used on an African cichlids set up?? I read this system is intended for use on only Saltwater set ups?? I don't want to do the filter sock thing.

It's a pretty new product, so reefers are understandably excited to get their hands on it. We expect the supply to improve going forward.

It depend on which version of the Reefer 250 you have. I would refer to this chart as it will let you know if modification is necessary www.redseafish.com/hardware/reefmat/

The ReefMat could be plugged into an Apex for on/off control via the energy bar, but is not an "Apex Ready" product.

Cool, but if you have a problem Red Sea is about the worst to deal with. They have no live help, no phone access and you have to "submit a ticket" and wait 24-72 hours for a response, then you have to provide photos, SN# and proof of purchase before they'll even attempt to help you. So think about that when you plunk all this cash on a glorified filter sock spinner...if it fails, you are pretty much up the creek without a paddle.

@3:48 "needlessly over-polishing the water"? So we like water that's clear, but we don't want water that's too clear? Does this mean you guys will stop selling ozone equipment? : ) You know, because nobody likes crystal clear water and all.

haha. I think the main point is more that we don't want to take every last particulate out of the water. After all, most of the corals we commonly keep can and will grab prey from the surrounding water, so removing everything might actually be a negative. Not to mention use up more fleece roll than you need.

@@BRStv Who is "we"? Reefing has many philosophies, and lots of reefers love particle free water. Having a tank where only the fish are floating around. Not particles. A sales video should be scripted so that it does not exclude, or "turn off", any potential buyers from anything BRS sells. Keep philosophy out of the script and just sell the product. You guys are scripting these aren't you? You guys have such a great actor, and production is top notch. Just give him a better script and director.
