@@EverythingHVACR New Hampshire. Intellipaks are intimidating at first - I still spend time with tech support going over sequence. But you seem to be comfortable with them. As much as there is going on with them, a fully decked out Precedent (all motors on drives, re-heat, reversing valves, etc) is 100x more confusing!!

Looks like not too much has changed with the intellipaks. Hopefully they changed the paint coat and doesn’t get all chalky turning you into a powder donut. Dumb idea to have contactors in a separate box I’ve seen older mcquays like that were they are underneath the comps in a control box. Still same user control module has the 2000’s year makes that I have. Watching you spray the compressors made me flitch I’ve had crankcase heaters pop on me when getting some water on them 😂 Guessing it isn’t code to drain into the roof drains over there? Also noticed on some of your zones, the boxes completely close up near setpoint. Here we have our mins and max we have to have ventilation so min would be like 150 cfm depending on box size. We got audited by UL on our RTU and some areas through out the building, lol let’s just say some interesting data and comfort for customers isn’t there priority.
@EverythingHVACR
@EverythingHVACR 3 жыл бұрын
I am not a fan of the contactors moving either, this was the first time I've seen that, so must be on the new models. Your right, Roof drains are not code here. As far as the box minimum, harshaw actually set this up and now we have the contract. Anyway I didn't mess with much air flow, I will adjust min and max when needed but a few vav only feed 1 small office on the Interior so 150cfm may be too much, hard to say but first time p.m. I didn't want to throw everything out of whack so only a few slight adjustments. Many more will need to be made in the future to fine tune everything. I spoke to the customer about this and they understand. But to keep this short there were other issues that were going on, some things just were not right, addresses on boxes, stats in wrong area ect. Thanks for watching!

I like to use a vacuum cleaner for drain pans if they that dirty. I think, but stand corrected, the moved the larger contractors because it could interfere with low voltage control signals esp com signals.

Any way you do these intellipack units is a pain, you just can't access the drain pan well.

@@EverythingHVACR I live in South Africa. we don't have the same equipment that you guys have over there. Our regulations arn't as strict as the US. Africa is in short the dumping ground for out of date and equipment that don't meet the 1st world regulations. Eventually those type of units will become available here.

Surprised a “super tech” hasn’t come at you about spraying the coils from the outside lol I hit it just like you do at an angle. Only thing different I’ve done is getting rid of those grease lines all together… your already walking around in there hit it at the bearing itself and wipe off the excess grease. Do you take out the plugs and put grease fittings on the motors?
@EverythingHVACR
@EverythingHVACR 2 жыл бұрын
😆 Thanks Jeff! If the coil is clean it's clean. Eventually the motors may need grease but if you look at manufacturer data on the motors, usually a few years normal duty before I would consider greasing.

What kind of nozzle do you use on the hose? Water pressure isn't the best at my building, anything would help. Thanks!

hello, what software are you using to access the intelipak like that?
@EverythingHVACR
@EverythingHVACR 6 ай бұрын
Tracer TU software is connected to the main SC controller. It does require a license through trane. Most adjustments, if needed, can be done from the HMI at the intellipack.

@@EverythingHVACR thank you. my new employer has an intellipack so im brushing up on them, but they dont have the software so thats my next move.
@EverythingHVACR
@EverythingHVACR 6 ай бұрын
It may have a front end or a main computer connected to the building that you can view and make adjustments. The software probably has a few extra benefits, but for the most part, you could make any necessary adjustments from this computer. Understanding VAV system operations is a must, more so than the software.

Depends on how bad the rain and what I have to do. Stay out of electrical, obviously, but rinsing coils or drains can be accomplished safely, if you have to but Once you've done it for a while it's easy enough to watch the weather and plan accordingly! Thank you for your support!

@EverythingHVACR
@EverythingHVACR 9 ай бұрын
There is not a single zone sensor. This is a vav system, so each vav has a zone sensor that controls the space temp using the vav box. The intellipack only maintains a constant supply temperature and duct static pressure.

Supply air input is the supply temperature. Daytime warm up is a sensor in the space to allow Daytime warm up if needed. What is the problem here? You may need to read over the manual to understand the operation better.
