Holden also hates movies thinking they are phony, since Holden's personality is based off of Salinger does he also think movies are phony? honestly this book gave me so much perspective on so many different things, made me realize we all have to grow up someday face the reality of a world we can't escape

I have just made a Toutube video in which I talk about dealing with depression.. I talk of Catcher being my favourite novel and how I cried so much when I found out he was in a mental institute because I identified so closely with Holden when I was at school. . I suppose most children don'twant to or fear growing up. To find out that Salinger was in a mental institute is astounding. Thank you for this. Tx
