“Our religion is Divine but our history is human”. I love this quote of yours and this lecture on the subject of the the black stone clearly defines both. You did a wonderful job with your precise choice of words illustrating the historical facts and putting them in layman’s terms for the common men/women to understand and appreciate what you said. I am now retired and at one time administered one of the largest Mosque in So. California. InshaAllah, one day in the near future, I will visit Texas and hope that you will allow me to meet you in person and perhaps break bread or at least have a cup of tea or coffee with you. But that was true. At the time of the prophet, peace be upon him, the stone had already become black. And it was already called Hajjar al aswad (literally means: black stone) at that time. Ibn Abbas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The black stone descended from Paradise and it was whiter than milk, but it became black due to the sins of the children of Adam.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 877 Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Tirmidhi

People often expect that the religion should be preserved by Divine intervention - literally expecting miracles. However, this was never promised. Just as it was upon Bani Israeel to conserve the tradition, it is upon us to employ material means and initiative to preserve the tradition; including everything from the Quranic text to the Ka’bah.

Speculations and conjectures of the highest order. If the Hajr-e-aswad is so important in Islam, how come it is not mentioned in the Qur'an anywhere? It's just a stone for God's sake, nothing more than that...just a mark to begin and end circumambulation.
@thebeesnuts7779 ай бұрын
Yep, and there is no circumambulation, tawaf I have been told and more so according to the context it's indicates come in a circle, unite , sit around a table, House of commons House of representatives House of Lords House of Allah ? It represents the constitution of Allah, a Kaaba can be any country and each one can have one What did ibraheem do ? He called his people to debate, (h-j-j) root indicates debate, they all came on foot ( female and male ) You should know the rest of the story, They made it into a cash cow, tourist attractions, income stream for them, forged Hadith

With due respects to you, Dr. Yasir Sahib, I like to make some improvements on this presentation. For a period Hejaz province with Makkah and Medina was under the Fatimid Caliphate of Egypt. Later Ayyubid Dynasty took control of Hejaz, subsequently Mamlukes from Egypt controlled Makkah and Medina. In 1507 CE Ottaman Sultan Saleem I defeated the Mamlukes and got control over Hejaz. He abolished namesake Abbasi caliphs who were under protection of Mamlukes. From then on Sultan Saleem and his heirs became Caliphs How and when Hajar Aswad got broken down is not my contention. Did it happen under Fatimid or Abbasi rule or even before is debatable. However, the broken pieces were encased in a block of lacquer, a resign but not some kind of tar. Under the reign of Sulaiman Qanuni also known as the Magnificent, Ottoman Empire was at its zenith. He got masjid Sulaimaniye Camii constructed in 1557 CE Under famous architect Mimar Sinan. It was the largest Masjid in Istanbul untill Camalica Masjid was opened in 2019. Sulaiman Qanuni sent a team of technicians to Hejaz to renovate Kabah and Masjid Nabwi. and also to Jerusalem to renovate Qubbat al Sakhra. Sultan Sulaiman’s contributions at Makkah included renovatation of roof of Kabah, resetting of Hajar Aswad with Silver casing around it, construction of Maqams for imams of four madhabs in the court yard around the Kabah. They can be seen in old photographs of Haram Shareef taken bbwfore 1950s. Later sultans built ornamental buildings for Zam Zam well and a rectangular boundary building with open entry all around the courtyard, Kabah in center. All those Ottoman buildings were demolished in 1963 except the rectangular boundary structure that got incorporated in the new extensions. It is alleged while Ottoman time renovation of kabah was going on, some relics of prophet and few pieces of Hajar Aswad from it's lacquer block were removed and taken to Istanbul. Those fragments of Hajar Aswad were installed in a smaller Masjid built by Sokullu Mohamet Pasha in 1572 CE, not too far from Hagia Sofiya. He was son-in-law of Sulaiman Qanuni and the Grand Vazeer of Ottoman empire. It was one of the last buildings designed by Mimar Sinan imperial archet. Sultan Ahmet Camii otherwise known as Blue Mosque built in 1607 CE is another important landmark closer to Hagia Sofia. Sultan Sulaiman died in 1566 six years before Masjid Sokullu was built. Hejaz was effectively under Ottoman caliphate till the out break of WWI. In 1925 King Abdul Azeez Al Saud took over Hejaz from Sharief Hussain ibn Ali. Dr. Noor Ahamed Tampa. Florida
