Phone died, not charging, road barricaded and overgrown, thunderstorm, heaviest rain of the journey.. and the comment is: "It was actually kind of fun" "completely soaked, did 52 miles, made it to the motel" [...] "solid day, still got the miles in" That's the spirit, the attitude. I only hope to remember it when life throws a curved ball. So many good and exceptional life lessons to learn from this series.

I think the biggest take away from your videos is that human beings have so much kindness imbedded in us, despite what’s going on in the world politically and socially. Seeing the interactions of people who have so much to give and are rooting for you is really refreshing to see. There absolutely is more good in the world than there is evil. God bless bro!

There seems to be a lot of signs of irony on this trip. Maybe they are reminders that you are on the right path, doing exactly what you should be doing. You're right where you need to be man! If moisture gets in the charge port the metal can oxidise, preventing charging. This can be sorted quite easily by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. Good luck for the rest of your trip. Almost there!

Great way to start my birthday by following an awesome person doing amazing things for an awesome cause.

Re Phone Charger: Chad what happens is the lint gets compressed down in the charging port over time so that it IS in there but you can't see it because it has formed to the walls of the charging port. You need to take a NON METAL thin piece of something, and gently scrape at the walls of the charging port and you will see the lint start to come off. Go slow, and there is usually more after you think you got it all. DO NOT use anything metal or you could short out the connection.

Everything happens for a reason ..The butterfly, the phone charging issue, the wheels, the shoes, the detours. You will get there when you get there, the only thing that matters is you are safe and well. The awesome woman here in Virginia that gave you the stone for protection knew how dangerous what you are doing is. We had a tornado blow thru here yesterday afternoon, just a few miles west of you ...Countless massive trees snapped like toothpicks and power lines down everywhere. Spent most of the last two days cutting and dragging trees out of roads and driveways to help people trapped at home, and to help the power company get the lines repaired and power restored as quickly as possible. My neighbor has lived here 78 years and he's never seen this much damage. A man was killed not far from here yesterday, when a massive tree came down on him in his truck. I saw a lot of good people coming together today to help each other out. STAY SAFE 🐮

big cities everyone is so used to not saying hello and everyone just keeps to themselves because there's so many people living so close to each other human interaction becomes more of a chore. Small Towns everyone knows eachother and every day life is much slower

I clean my charger port with rubbing alcohol and q tips. It sometimes won't let you charge until it doesn't detect liquid in the port. But I usually blow in it and restart it and the charger stays in better and charges better.
