My husband loves to read. So the first thing he bought our first born was a set of Dr. Suess books. He started reading to him out loud before he was born. 📚❤️

Nursing pillow, a bassinet or pack’n play next to your bed & a baby swing in your room. The swing really helped put the baby to sleep fast and I got some needed shut-eye.

My 2 favorite nursery items were the dresser (I repainted the dresser that was in my own nursery and replaced the hardware), and the glider chair. My daughter and I spent so much special time in that chair. It stayed in her room until she became a teenager, and it resides in my bedroom now. I cannot part with it. It is soooooo comfortable, and because it looks like a piece of fine furniture I can put it anywhere, and it works. My biggest tip is to invest in items that will grow with baby through childhood. As far as actual items the baby uses, my favorite were the bouncy seat and swing. My daughter spent so much time in these because she was a fussy baby, and needed LOTS of motion and soothing. Beyond those, the softest baby clothes you can find and books. It is never too early, not too late to read to your child.

Mama to 4, I absolutely love the “bedside sleeper” from Target. It allows me to place baby somewhere safe after nighttime nursing without getting out of bed again.

@ Myths_About _Marriage , May I add it is also a bit safer because parents have rolled over on their baby in the bed. I prefer a bassinet if I'm really tired , right next to the bed. Its the safest when you're sleepy and tired. I'm a mom of adults, but moms never forget. LOL

One of the best baby item my friend gifted to me was the boppy pillow. Helps with feeding baby. It could be also diverse for other baby moments and parents. Beautiful Nursery!!! 💕🥰

The product that I got and literally gave me such a peace of mind was the OwletCare, it's a smart baby sock that tracks the baby oxygen when he sleeps to prevent SIDS, if something is not right it rings an alarm to wake up the parents.

Woombie sleep sack. I sucked at swaddling and many of the swaddle blankets out there I could never get tight enough for my daughter. This was a game changer! It comes in multiple sizes and one that will grow with them. It zips from either top or bottom! Boogie wipes too!

My most loved and well used baby products was some kind of carrier. My husband and I both used a stretchy wrap carrier for around the house and for running quick errands when we didn't want to have to bust out the stroller and then transitioned to a structured carrier when he got heavier.

I'm Canadian so I think it's definitely odd when Americans rush to remove their kids from their rooms. We didn't even bother until my daughter we out of the sids age danger zone at 6 months. My son still climbs into bed with me in the middle every night and he is 5.

@@uppercaseMunlucky curious why you think that's Canadian? I'm Canadian too but I think it's just personal preference. My third child we moved her to her own room at three days. It's right beside ours and we could still hear her, just not so loud that we couldn't sleep (erratic breathing of newborns, etc). We'll do the same for #4 due in a few days, though this time we have a camera we'll keep on in the night on our ipad. To each their own.

Swing was the best things ever for me. Bouncy/vibrating chair was also great. It was the only way I could get a shower. Bring it into the bathroom and play peekaboo. The bassinet/crib thing is brilliant because baby won’t have to transition to a foreign environment when he outgrows the bassinet. Seriously impressed with that. Buy more mittens. Baby nails are razor sharp and will hurt both you and him!

The best gift I buy for anyone expecting is packs of basic white onsies that go under the babies clothes over diapers because you cannot have enough. They get ruined quickly, but the also help protect top layers from accidents.

My favorite gift to give is a winkle. It’s a great first rattle because the loops are small enough for tiny fingers. Most other rattles can’t be gripped for a while. ❤️

Omg you are cutest little pregnant lady! You are totally glowing! I’m so excited to see the nursery come together and to meet your baby in a future video! I think finding a great diaper bag with lots of storage is a must have first item especially when it’s a couple’s first baby. If you buy a great diaper bag for kid one, you won’t need to buy another one by the time kid two comes around! A tip from my mom is if you plan on having more than 1 kid, skip the single stroller and go straight for the double! You will want the two seater when you have a newborn and toddler you are chasing!

Love the mattress! My advice on baby products is less is more! A baby wrap, a diaper bag, a big receiving blanket, wash clothes and cloth diapers and easy clothes like sleepers with the zippers. And baby shoes are a waist of time, money and your sanity! Lol best wishes for baby!

I didn't know what to get so I waited for my baby shower and everything they gave me I used. Other moms shared with me what worked for them. Which was awesome!! For my second child bottles were the first thing I bought.

Advice from mom of an 18 month old. Put the book shelves across from the rocker. You can sit and watch him take half hr to pick a book or take every book out and put it back again. I bought a bumbo chair and never used it. I was gifted the summer infant 4 in 1 seat and that was a lifesaver. Great to move from room to room and for travel. Plus this seat is from infant to 4 yrs old and babies typically grow out of bumbo by 1 year.

In the first few months they say the infants see contrasting colors best. My son's first toy he played with regularly was a black, red and white caterpillar which had different fabrics and textures. However his bedding was typical baby blue. 💙

Please , do not feel guilty about not nursing. Everyone is different. My first baby was a chewer and I only nursed a couple of weeks. I was constantly judged by "perfect" mom's. My second child I nursed for almost 2 years, it was a great experience. Both babies are almost 40 now, happy and healthy. Relax and don't stress about the little things.

Very tasteful choices Sharra! I have two boys (4&1.5), and I LOVE my Lilly Jade diaper bag!! I have the Madeline bag in Old English leather tone. They are real leather bags that are beautiful, very functional, and make life easier. They don’t look like diaper bags, have a removable insert, have all 👏 of👏 the👏 pockets👏, easy to clean, and have a BACKPACK STYLE OPTION! GAME CHANGER!! 🙌👏🎉 They are an investment but are 100% worth it. I’ve had *many* diaper bags and this one has by far been the most durable, practical, low maintenance, and most importantly- the most beautiful! Congratulations!

I like to get cloth nappies if I know the mum is interested in trying/using them, so many cute patterns!! Otherwise muslin wraps, wet bag, books, larger size baby clothes for them to grow into.

I put a bassinet in our room when all my three kids were born. Youngest is 24 , so I'm sure a lot has changed since then .But I kept them with us until they grew out of the bassinet..Maybe thats why I had bed kids. Lol.Good luck on the birth of your new baby! I bought a $1.50 plastic bowl to use as a bath; and two packets of substandard terry towelling diapers. And a plastic changing mat that was used on the bathroom floor! Carry cot on wheels which acted as pram/and crib. That was it.

One of my favorite items that I used with each child was a Mama Bear prenatal heartbeat for the crib. It had a Velcro strap that hooked to side rails so that it never fell against baby possibly causing suffocation. Also on a timer and when turned on helped baby fall asleep faster and calmer because they would hear a recording of mama's internal heart beat. It was a nice hug-able stuffed bear to play with later. So excited for you and all the new firsts that you and Tyler are going to have.

So difficult shopping here in England had to post everything to my daughter for her baby boy , her favorites were organic cotton wool weleda calendula baby wash and musical ball that protects stars on the ceiling 💙 only seen my little grand son once in three months due to lockdown hopefully see him soon xxxx

You will be so thankful for the gowns. I used them for all my boys and made diaper changing at night so much easier. I also bought cloth diapers to use as burp cloths.

We have 5 kids! The first thing we bought 15 years ago for our first baby was probably a cute little outfit. My go to baby gift is lanolin nipple cream - life saver. We had a bassinette on wheels for our 1st 3 in a one story house and it was awesome. The nursery is gorgeous for a baby but those doors will be a nightmare with a toddler.

Onesies are my go to gift for new moms. I wouldn't worry about the longevity of clothes until your child is running and sliding around, probably around age 5. Until then clothes (especially onesies) will be outgrown before they become warn.

My favorite baby product was the angelcare baby bath support! I buy it for all my friends now that I have used it! It can be the perfect place to set your baby while your in the bathroom, as well as a perfect place to bathe your baby in your bathtub! It’s versatile, and that’s why I love it! My second favorite is the noodle and boo baby care line! Especially lotion, the diffuser, and the stain remover

The first purchase for my daughter was two babydoll polo Ralph Lauren dresses - one in grey and one in red. I purchased these from Macy’s on super clearance sale. She wore them as long dresses, then as she grew knee length dress, then as babydoll tops with leggings. Then we passed them onto my niece who wore them the same way. She then passed them onto her nieces who are doing the same. They would have been a great deal for how much use my daughter got out of them, however, they are being worn for the third generation.

The friend that sent you the Patagonia Scout Coat, is a keeper. Such a SCORE on the friend! (and the coat🤣). And that little dog/bear stuffed toy in the chair...is Scout too.

First thing we bought was a crib best thing for baby 👶 to buy is A&D diaper cream!!! Love your mattress how does it shrink down when you make the crib into a bassinet? Also for a safety tip your doors need a sliding lock near the top of the door safety for now and when baby starts walking 👶 Best wishes for a safe 🙏delivery 🙏🌹

I loved your top. It covered your tummy and you looked so nice. Like a beauiful pregnet momma. This 8 months went to quickly. I am praying for you all 3 plus 4 more. Love from Michigan. I BOUGHT material and sewed crib blankets and clothes. My mom. Made their crocheted baby blankets. That was in 1976 1988 1989. Long ago BABIES. Girls. Made things in pink.

I little stuffed dog I bought for my grandson when we went on a Cruise to Cuba and they had the doggie for sale on the ship it’s my grandson‘s favorite dog and now my granddaughter had to get one so we ended up with a bigger dog just like it anyway I hope your baby loves it God bless you

Best thing we found for colic was Kid E Col from Good Earth. Our pediatrician recommended it. It's better than gripe water because it's thicker and our baby didn't choke on it like she did with gripe water.

I love his room! I would totally stay in that room, I don't mind the size. I think the way they laid it put with the closets and those French doors makes it not even seem that small!

@@CreateLoveRepeat I love that! Converse have been my favorite brand of shoe since I was a freshman in high school. I've been wearing them for over 10 years. Even wore them under my wedding dress. Lol.

@@moldyvoldy1231 same here, I love them! I WISH I had worn them with my wedding dress. My feet would have been happier. lol. Some of my favorite art in our house is photos I’ve taken of the kids’ feet all together in their converse. It sounds kind of silly, but the photos are actually really cool.

I found the best for those first nights and days was to basically set up a mini nursery in our room. I put a change pad on a storage chest we had in there and put the rocking chair in the corner. I also put a dim light on the wall between the two so I could see without overstimulating in the middle of the night. We also had a bassinet but he ended up sleeping between us in a little mattress thing. He started to be noisy in his sleep so we moved him to our closet so we could hear him cry but not the extra noises
