THANK YOU for making these and showing your tips in real time with real walls that have outlets and alarms!! One question: when cutting for the second layer, does the first one need to be dry? Every time I've tried the paint is too tacky to relayer, but if I wait I'm afraid my caulk will dry out :( Any advice?

Excellent tips for sure . The problem is every Tom, Dick and Harry think they can paint. One time a neighbor asked me to change an electric receptacle for her . I said why it has no power ? She said no the painters painted right over it . Incredible. You get what you pay for . When you see a great detailed paint job the affect is amazing . Thanks for the video

I don’t pull the fridge out or remove large appliances, unplug routers nor remove wall mounted tv’s, etc. Reasons are similar to why you don’t remove the alarms or thermostats. I’ve had fridge ice makers leak and not stop due to poor connections. Wall mounted tv’s or large mirrors, for example can be a huge pain to reinstall due to loose mounting screws, anchors or lags bolts. Then you’re “possibly” spending hours getting things “fixed” to where they were. Running to the hardware store for screws, bolts, anchors, ice machine tubing and whatever else is not something I want to do. I generally will disclose that prior to starting the job. It seems lazy, but actually it’s a huge frustration to have to deal with non-painting issues on a paint job. Just wait until a customer calls you at 9:30 pm to say their kitchen floor is covered in water from the ice machine because you want to climb back there and “do the right thing”. I commend people for doing it right, but to me it’s worth telling the customer ahead of time that you won’t do that and why. They usually understand and if they don’t they waive my responsibility for those related issues.
