Reality is not the product of ever-changing human morality. Reality is Reality. Truth is Truth. Illusion is illusion. Make-believe is make-believe.
Reality is available to anyone, anywhere, anytime who is willing to explore the interior deeps in an encounter with the awareness that is available to us if we are available to it.
Contemplative awareness, not human popularity, can alone deliver us to an authentic life lived in the presence of unchanging Reality.
Interconnectedness, vow, and repentance are first and finally a matter of consciousness, of awareness; not something else.
It is to this awareness the curriculum modules of Interior Mythos Journeys seek to deliver us.

The Transformative Encounter: The Practice of Contemplation
In the current age this transformative encounter, as well as the practices that deliver us to this encounter and the personal connection that flows from this encounter, is seldom the focus of our lives. Many of us wander disoriented through life, often on a self-destructive path, in a world seen, understood, and measured primarily by the external environment. We are disconnected from the Connecting Myth. We are disconnected from the interior depth to which the Connecting Myth might deliver us. Ironically, we have come to understand myth as a lie rather than a symbolic and metaphoric gateway to a deeper truth.

“Repentance is awareness of how incomplete we are.” This seems a better way to look at our mistakes, rather than in our Western system meting out punishment to hopefully cause reform.

Abbott Okumura challenges the ego self in his statement regarding our “lack of self-nature that is independent entity.” As a young man (19 to 22), with no money, when personal time was available once-a-week, I would walk the downtown Loop sidewalks in Chicago next to the towering skyscrapers of glass and steel. I was, as always, searching for the meaning of life and for the essence of who I was in this world. As I walked by the chrome-like steel and huge plates of glass at the base of the skyscrapers, I would see reflections of “myself” mirrored in fleeting images of someone very familiar yet as only a passing urban mirage. 50 years later, I am finally beginning, in some small measure, to manifest the truth of that flowing and fleeting essence as the essential “me;” the real reality I was not quite prepared to fully embrace at that time. I first needed to spend the next 50 years searching for something more solid and permanent in this world with which to identify. I have now largely released that quest and have returned to embrace the truth that was mirrored to me so long ago at the base of Chicago skyscrapers; and “skyscrapers,” what an appropriate name!

It is probable that nothing on this channel, nor anything that truly represents depth universal Truth, will ever go viral. But…we are grateful you are here! Please return often.
