I wish I came here before I let my daughter use interlocking! Now there seems to be a small knot in my locs near the top! I’m waiting for it to grow out and sticking to retwisting😢

@@tbrwn2548 is not growing in because your aren't training the hair to remain where your are putting it. You don't maintain your locs consistently enough so that's why your hair is flowing all over the place. My clients don't have that issue

It’s like you said in the last comment on your other short. I do wonder if my friend with the breakage from the sisterlocks is due to the interlocking being too tight. Wouldn’t interlocking be a bad choice for very thin locks on thinner parts of the head like the hairline? Would it cause an already thin lock to appear thinner?

Just dont Interlock too tight, just like you shouldn't palm roll too tight. You can have issues with both if you overdo it.

@@AfrikanHairGod that don’t mean nothing sir, with all due respect. Sometimes ppl can be incorrect, like you for example. I have family members that has that same accomplishments but been doing it longer than you’ve been born. I just think you should’ve worded it differently. Interlocking TOO MUCH can equal to thinning. But if you’re retwist/interlock every 4 months, you should be fine.

@@BranTRainey I never said interlocking caused thinning... I said it makes your locs thinner than it would be if you palm rolled.... If you are going to argue a point at least know what you are speaking about. And we aren't talking about your family members and their accomplishments. That's completely irrelevant to the discussion. If you want to argue just to be right then just say that but sheer ignorance won't be tolerated.

@@BranTRaineyyou shouldn’t alternate between the two and not everyone should be waiting 4 months to retwist/ interlock. this has caused thinning for a lot of different hair types. it is not a one size fits all. you genuinely have no clue what you’re talking about and come in someone else’s comment section to disrespect them because you disagree with them, while being wrong. that is sad asf

Thank you so much for explaining this. I have fine soft hair and didn’t know what to do as far as getting a retwist or interlocking my hair. I want my hair to look as full as possible. So retwist it will be.
