Thank you for sharing with us Jennifer. I purchased the FitTrack back when you suggested it. It’s wonderful and answers many questions I had about my body. I am also ecstatic that you are speaking with Dr.Mindy , she is the person I watch religiously and I had hoped you would speak with her, I think I asked you if you would on the last fasting video. I am getting her new book pronto. I personally have not had success with fasting although I naturally do it because I have for so long. I am not sure where my error lies so I am interested to see your talk with Dr. Mindy. Blessings to you beautiful 🌸💞

Waiting for my copy of Fast Like a Girl to arrive! EEK!!! Can't wait! Love your red striped top. Look's so elegant on you. Questions for Dr. Mindy Pelz - What does a day of eating look like on non-fasting days? How many meals do you recommend? And how does one fast if she has a longer cycle? My last cycle was 37 days long. Do I stick to a 12-13 hour fast from days 20-37?

Snacking has caused so many weight issues around the world. I don't IF, but I don't snack. At 59 I gained control, now been stable for a year. Children do not need loads of crisps, biscuits, and rubbish. The fast food and rubbish snacks have damaged the health of so many. I have autoimmune issues, eating healthy good foods definitely makes a difference to how I feel.

I had been on unsuccessful diets from 18 years old over the span of 8 years. I maintained my weight but it was a draining tideous process. I had a bad relationship with food. Food took way too much mental energy. All that changed when I watched your video. I could not believe you could eat three meals a day and a snack and lose weight. But I still tried it, dreading all the weight I would gain. But a surprising thing happened, I didn't gain weight. In fact I lost some. And I had never eaten more. So thanks. A lot. It's been a year. Food does not bring up any negative feelings anymore. And that to me, is priceless😊

Congratulations on keeping your weight off for 3 years! I just do not understand how you do it all! Please do a video on your time management. As a single Mom, I can hardly find time to do bird baths! Thanks for all you do!

Dear Jennifer, I want to deeply thank you for these wonderful IF videos. I began the 16:8 method last February after watching your updates and have lost almost 40lbs and my husband now calls me Tigger because I have gone from having the least energy, to the most in my family, although I think teenagers have a sloth period 😂 I was so amazed also by the restructuring of my circadian rhythm too, getting up at 5am rather than 7am - but still not feeling as tired or hungry as I did before! I’m entering my 50th year in 2023 and I’ve never felt better! ❤

@tonyastairs8133
@tonyastairs8133 7 ай бұрын
@@roismcanultyI just read your comment. CONGRATULATIONS!! ......also my eyes lit up when I read that you're peri menopausal symptoms that were debilitating have been helped. I hv been SEARCHING for months to hear that! Intermittent fasting is very easy for me to do and I absolutely enjoy it and I have lost approximately 30 lb, however, I keep just eating whenever and whatever because I start to feel better but then my symptoms of perimenopause come back and I feel awful and so emotional so I'll hv sweet, creamy coffee & a dessert first thing in the morning for comfort ...lol... Then I wonder if I just need to be taking supplements or eating a special way along with IF for my menopausal symptoms to be helped. Or JUST STICK WITH IT CONSISTENTLY FOR MANY MONTHS then MAYBE these awful perimenopause symptoms will reduce for good or even go away! 😊 I just turned 50 years old in august. Although I still have my cycle every month, I have definitely been having very strong PMS symptoms, physically, emotionally and all the way around and I know it is absolutely perimenopause related symptoms. I'd like to ask you, do you eat a specific way because so many people say you got to cut out gluten, cut out a lot of ALL processed foods, carbohydrates and other foods in order to help your hormones. I do eat very clean and healthy and whole foods but I like bread, I like a bowl of ice cream every now and then, I like a nice turkey sandwich with potato chips and potato salad once in a while and I would like to be able to enjoy those foods and I'm thinking that maybe if I stick with intermittent fasting long-term each day and choose healthy foods AND I don't have to be keto or anything crazy like that and enjoy the foods I love BUT it is consistency everyday that brings help & HEALING....once inflammation begins to come down in my body .......that is what will really help my symptoms. Excuse me for the long comment, I can go on and on about this 😅 I've been searching for someone to say what I just read in your comment and I was hoping that maybe you and I could chat about it a little bit more. I've been following Jennifer for a couple of years now, and I see the variety of foods and she doesn't RESTRICT herself on foods she & her family love and that is FREEDOM & so encouraging! BUT.... I don't think Jennifer is perimenopausal right now.... so I've never written to Jennifer to ask her, and I wonder, if one day when she does enter perimenopausal phase of her life if she will have to change her food choices or maybe just consistency and the healing that has & is already happening in her body with IF..,.THEN maybe she won't have to do that or change anything and her perimenopausal phase and menopausal phase will be a breeze. I am so curious about all of this. Okay Thanks!

That’s an average of 2.5 lbs per month. I think people just expect weight loss to be faster and usually just don’t stick with their plan long enough or make their plan too extreme so it’s not sustainable. This is very instructive Jennifer. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your experience.

I’m a little surprised people comment on your small proportions! I always think how much you’re eating in 8 hours - 3 meals AND a snack! You do an amazing job of eating a well-balanced meal, though, and I think that’s why this works so well for you. I eat 2 meals and a snack in 6-7 hours, and lose nothing. But I don’t have as much fruit/vegetables as you do. Great job!

I’ve been using the IF method for close to 2 yrs (16:8) although I didn’t know I was even doing it at first - I simply began eating an early dinner and then cutting out nighttime snacking because of some digestive issues. After a few months I noticed weight loss when trying on clothes while shopping, and I was also feeling much, much better overall. I was overweight in the beginning, had dieted many times, and am still quite shocked that I’ve lost 40+ lbs at age 67. My energy level has been helped even more by daily exercise. I do hope to continue losing maybe an additional 10 pounds. I’ll be interested to see your interview with Dr. Mindy. Great information in this video, Jennifer. Like you, I don’t believe that I could ever change what I’m doing right now. Thank you!

💚 Electrolytes are very important for hydration and for the immune system. They can be made at home by adding a few drops of lemon to your water and as about 6 grains of (Himalayan or sea salt, preferably), regardless of the amount of water. It is also important to not drink too much water/fluids, depending on body weight, or we'll just be flushing out nutrients (and constantly visiting the loo!..). Got these tips from a certified nutritionist. Please also ask Dr. Mindy about menopausal women and intermittent fasting. Enjoyed this update, thanks! 💜

You encouraged me to try IF (16:8) and I started back in November. I have lost 20lbs and it's wonderful! I had been eating for 2 for the past 6 years (3 kids!) and needed something to help break up the late night snacking. I also focus on whole unprocessed foods and hit up the gym 5 days a week (only 30 min at a time with 3 days walking & 2 strength training). I still have some LBs to go, but it has been such a life changer! Thank you for sharing your journey as well as chatting with experts in the field. The recent "don't fast everyday" has got me wondering if I would fall back into those bad habits with late night snacking. We shall see! Again, Thank you so much!

I lost over 32 pounds by intermittent fasting this past year, and at 56 years of age, it’s the ONLY plan that really moved the needle, while practically eliminating my hunger, leveled my hormones AND allowed me to eat whatever I wanted. I just love your channel Jennifer, and your style of eating with teatime has inspired me to do the same. I’m also a big fan of Dr. Mindys, bought her audible version of the book, and because of her videos and wonderful community of supporters, I tried, and successfully completed, my first 36 hour fast today, in preparation for my first 72 hour fast next week! Not for weight loss, but for all of the health benefits, including cell, regeneration, and stem cell production! Thank you for your IF update. I was looking forward to it, and appreciate all the wonderful content you put out! ❤

Hi Jennifer, I started IF for health reasons post baby number 5, even while nursing. I lost 10lb very quickly. The one thing I did notice is that I don't crave food as much anymore, and I have been trying to have more salads with my protein. It's amazing that it can be hours after I ate and I am still not hungry. Truly, it is wonderful. Edited to say, my baby just turned 1, and I have zero issues with milk supply even on IF.

Close to a year ago after trying different methods of fasting i decided do 2 24 hour fasts each week. I never told anyone either that I was doing this. I feel that had a positive impact. I love that whatever type of fasting you chose to do you can kind of tailor it to your lifestyle. And lastly, I love that this does not eliminate food groups. I find 24 hour fasts challenging at times (breaking the fast carefully with the right foods is sometimes harder than the fast itself) and planning physical activity carefully is kind of a trial and error approach. About not telling anyone, I have found with a lot of goals not telling others yields better results. Sometimes i feel others scrutinize when you share things too soon.

Thank you. I have been doing Intermittent Fasting for the past year and at various time would rewatch your videos for encouragement. It is interesting that you mention Thomas Delauer's advice to change up the schedule. After watching his recent IF videos, I had' already decided to do 16:8 Monday-Friday, a one meal a day on Saturday and then do no fasting on Sunday. You've mentioned that you clean fasted....meaning, no creamer in your coffee, until you achieved your weight goal. As someone who always enjoyed an early egg breakfast, I was surprised that starting my eating window at noon turned out be easy. The hardest part was having green tea and then black coffee. I love my hazelnut with Vanilla Nutpod creamer but that is now my noon treat. At age 68, I don't need to fast around my menstrual cycle, but I am conscious of eating for bone health, which is concern for many even younger. Thank you again for sharing your journey!

For bone health avoid (even better eliminate) dairy! In order to digest it, your body needs to use the calcium it already has and guess where this calcium is? In your bones. Outcome? Osteoporosis. Not to mention other diseases like breast & prostate cancer (dairy messes up with our hormones and really creates havoc in our bodies).

Your videos have been such an encouragement to me. I started intermittent fasting a short time before your first video on it came out and I have followed along since then. I did not lose as quickly as you, which my be due to my age; I am 68. I didn’t mind though as I had lost and gained back 50 lbs three times in my life and 20lbs many numerous times. I am now just 7lbs from goal weight. You’re right, intermittent fasting becomes a habit and now it is just a part my day. I started walking and now do 10ks. I never could have imagined that happening in my life.

Love these updates. I appreciate how you approach everything with such honesty and openness. Thank you! A tip from someone who went from absolutely zero strength training to 3-4 times a week - take your body measurements. As I added muscle mass I gained a few pounds and I would have been worried had my body measurements not shown that I was not gaining size (actually loosing inches). I measured chest, waist, hips, thigh, and upper arm. Seeing your strength grow is a super motivation! Can’t wait to hear about your next year update!

I started 16:8 several months ago and started getting frequent migraines, so took a break. In the meantime I did some research, and now break my fast with a protein. Problem solved! The weight loss is great but more significant is how well I feel. A lot of digestive issues have slowed down or disappeared. My question is going to be about IF for women over 60, if there are other considerations for that group (which I am a member of!) Thanks for the information, looking forward to the interview with Dr. Mindy.

Thank you Jennifer. I was inspired by your videos to try IF some time ago. I did 16/8 and broke my fast at 11.00am so that I could have dinner with my husband. I found that I became dizzy and nauseated before breakfast, so I gave up. Recently I started again, this time following your eating window of 9.00am(ish) to 5.00pm. So much better! I've already lost about 8lbs. I'm listening to Fast Like a Girl on Audible, and think I will be able to make some more changes to my eating that will help with the dreaded menopause symptoms! I love the variety of topics on your channel and I've taken on board a great deal of your wisdom. Thanks again for all the information.

I’m so happy to see you had great results from IF and so excited you’ll be interviewing Dr. Mindy!! (I just got that book as well) A lot of the podcasters I’ve been listening to since start of this year (Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, Dr. Anna Cabeca, Gin Stephens are a few) got me really motivated and interested to understand what to do to improve my health and feel better as a woman, mom, busy with all the things , working full time etc… some things I’ve heard suggested : make sure you’re getting enough protein, resistance training and weights to build stronger bones and muscles, avoid processed foods,and fast to allow our bodies to heal! Just since January I’ve lost 4 pounds with IF a few times a week and my skin is improving and I’m not as tired.. But it’s allowed me to really pay attention to foods that don’t serve me.. yes I love chips and cookies but man I feel bloated and sick for a day or so after.. so maybe I find cleaner alternatives.. I want to live a long active life with my family so good health is important! Lots to learn and everyone is different so I love that you are sharing your journey thank you!😊Can’t wait for your interview with Dr. Mindy!

I too was encouraged by you to try IF. Started in January and I am down 8 ponds. I am plateauing now but will continue IF. Thank you. My work schedule varies on a daily basis so it has been challenging but it CAN be done. So for those of you watching who think they can’t I say keep an open mind, eliminate or reduce sugar where possible and give it a try! You will see results, perhaps small but enough to encourage you. Good luck!

Jennifer a year ago you were instrumental in my starting intermittent fasting. I’ve lost a total of 25 pounds. I have lost 2 dress sizes and I feel great! I also did some research on intermittent fasting and try to keep up with the latest information on this type of lifestyle eating. Like you, I never dieted before and never had issues with food except I love carbs and desserts, but, I have learned to enjoy on occasion and have learned to be a mindful eater savoring food’s flavors tastes and textures. I also, need to do more exercise and you have motivated me to begin. I cannot wait to see your progress a year from now. Again, thank you for the motivation.

Hi Jennifer! I got introduced to you via another video i was watching about IF around in November. I got hooked on how easy you made it! I got Dr Mindy’s book, and i just had to put it down because it was a little overwhelming to me.I started in November/December i have a lost a solid 5-6 lbs. I have felt a little defeated at the slow rate, but after this video i feel much more confident that slow and steady wins the race here. I also want you to know that while i came for the IF content, you have made your way into my heart and you have inspired me to be the best version of myself. I have a 14 year old son, and i gave birth to my daughter the week the world shut down in March 2020. I just kind of lost myself the last 3 years. Being a mom to a baby again, not taking care of myself, my home, working crazy long hours trying to balance it all. Now, i have stopped wearing my yoga pants every day, i look presentable always, and i am enjoying music and art and reading again. I am finding myself and i really owe that you. Thank you for the work you do. I always tell my kids “Class is free-you can’t buy it anywhere, it is your choice to have and it always accessible to you.” My mom always told me to carry myself well and be classy. She didn’t teach me HOW, but i feel like i instinctively knew and now you are teaching me how! Sorry for the long comment, but i did want you to know that i have been a huge devotee to fitness for the last decade, and I SWEAR by the Tracy Anderson Method. She has online streaming, and it just makes me feel beautiful and elegant and it is very good for building muscle in a feminine way. She also is focused on longevity and balance in the body. Check it out! She is amazing….

If someone tells their friends or family that they are refraining from drinking alcohol, the friends and family will say that’s great and leave it alone. If someone who has a negative relationship with food or is trying to change their relationship with food then friends and family will say “you look great” or “have another helping.” That can be so frustrating. Especially when all the person wants is to be left alone and not encouraged to eat more.

Love your sharing with IF. I discovered this thru You Tube and started researching about IF. Long story short is it works for me and due to health reasons my Dr sent me to a nutritionist and she was very against IF, only for me to gain and weigh the highest I have ever been. Then I started following my "body" as a diabetic i measure my BS continually thru the day and eat accordingly. I have gone back to IF to see a continual drop to the normal range with my BS. When I do this sensibly and listen to my body I get results, I still work with my Dr and would take his advise but he also wants to get my BS under control and is more open to this option. I share this as others who struggle with diabetes and weight issues to work with your Dr but also I have found a safe way to If and I am getting results. I have been a life long chronic dieter and IF has brought back balance and normal eating to me. Thanks so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video and loved hearing your answers to the great questions. I started fasting 16:8 just over a year and a half ago and initially it seemed to work (I was not that hungry and was losing weight) but then I got Covid and was quite sick for a few weeks. I waited a few months before starting fasting again, but when I began again, I just wasn't losing the weight and felt hungry more often. I am also perimenopausal so that might have something to do with it. I'm persevering, though, with the fasting, healthy eating and regular exercise, so I am hoping the weight might start to come off again at some point...hopefully soon!

Intermittent fasting has so many health benefits alongside weight loss. I love Mindy's book and am looking forward to your interview with her. I used to tell people I had trouble consuming water yet when I did longer fasts I managed to prove even myself wrong! I use the large cups that come with the NutriBullet blender which holds around 800mls. Four of those gets my daily amount of water so I would have one upon getting up, one at breaking my fast, one during the day and one just before my last meal for the day. It has helped me to not feel so sore as not enough water gives me a backache. I love this video. It's so great to see how three years down the track looks in the fasting lifestyle.
