@@akbmusix Yes, broke his fast *breakfast* with a light meal then 4-5 hrs later ate a full meal, then fast the rest of the time. Probably the most optimal way to eat ever as I think OMAD is just too many calories at once despite the benefits of 20-24 hour fasting, 16-20 is definitely enough.

What he ment is that when your blood glucose drops about 2-4 hours after meal, you are getting hunger to raise it up again (your hormone Ghrelin goes up because of that). Measure your blood glucose with blood monitor and you will see that on your very eyes. I tried that and its perfectly correct.

💯💯💯 Before I break my fast around noon, sometimes my stomach feels empty. I’m not hangry, feeling like I need to eat RIGHT NOW. It’s sometimes annoying, but I drink water and the feeling goes away. Once I have broken my fast, I sometimes feel hungry throughout my 8 hour eating window. And when I’m hungry, I eat something. I generally aim to eat a good balance of protein/carbs/fat, but I don’t count calories or macros. Then after dinner, I’m done eating. After decades of yo yo dieting, I lost 100 lbs and it truly feels effortless. I feel like I learned some kind of magic trick! But I think it’s how my body works best. So grateful to have discovered it!

I want to do the same for health reasons, but I am dangerously under weight. I have done intermittent fasting, I feel better, but then I start loosing weight and more weight, until I start feeling worse again. What do I do? If I drink Golden Milk(coconut milk, turmeric and Ghee Butter) in the morning, am I still fasting? Or is that a meal?
@frankiefernandez5252
@frankiefernandez5252 4 жыл бұрын
@@SouEuMesmoAqui If you're active most of the day then you need 2 good meals. Have a 1000 calorie meal at 6 am and another 1000 calorie meal at 6 pm. No snacking between meals. Only Himalayan salt water or black coffee allowed. Meal 1. at 6 am. Protein/carbs for fuel. Meal 2. Protein/fats. Example of a 6 am breakfast Scrambled egg sandwich on wheat bread, cup of cooked rice, fruit smoothie, cup of bulletproof coffee, Dinner at 6: large salad with cheese, 2 pieces of chicken, avacado, cup of stirfry vegetables cooked with butter, cup of bone broth. Try the 2 meals a day every 12 hours for at least 2 weeks. Make sure to drink plenty of Himalayan salt water for electrolytes (3 to 4 cups a day). Because you're underweight and have a fast metabolism you can still enjoy healthy carbs, fats, and fruit, but remember, 12 hours between meals is barely fasting. The benefits of fasting begin around 8 to 12 hours of no food. Good luck. I hope this gives you some ideas. You really have to experiment on yourself and try different eating times and fasting schedules to see what gives you the best sustainable energy. If I feel too tired or weak, I'll switch to something else. The eating schedule I just gave you works great for me. Carbs and meats in the morning, fat, meats and veggies for dinner.

Then, the weight loss was slow and gradual afterwards. Came down to 73 kg by end 2021. Now, July 2022. I am about 72 to 73 kg. I am happy about it. I fast daily for 18 hours.. Sometimes, i eat once a day for so i basically fast 23 hours and 40 minutes a day. I adapt my fasts to my hormonal cycle because (of course) i get very hungry between the second and third week of my cycle. That's usually when i break my good fasting habits and I automatically feel bad physically and psychologically when i don't IF. I hope everybody tries intermittent fasting. Exploring my path with this topic I discovered breakfast is the healthiest meal you can eat. Everyone's body is different. I saw when fasting meditate on your purpose , it helps me for some reason I fasted without reminding my self the purpose & I struggled big time. Meditation & fasting go hand & hand very well. The mind is powerful & uses 30% of calorie intake. Program the mind to deal with the unconfortablness of your goal.

Why am I not suprised Sadhguru is doing OMAD! And he also sleeps very very little. People dont believe this. But after experimentations myself. I eat much less, sleep much less, but have more energy? Magic? Took 3 months for me to see the transformations. I'm always a sceptic. But if it works, it works.... 1. Start eating 2 big meals a day spread out. Once comfortable try OMAD. No snacking in between, this is very important. 2. Make sure your body and mind are at ease, total relaxed. Yoga and meditation can help with this. 3. Exercise in nature. Anything you like. 4. You become super human. Sleep went down for me from 8 to 6 hours. Perfect skin, stable energy. Feeling very happy. But I only been doing this 3 months. I think it will get even better. If you compare human body to a machine. The more efficient it runs, the less maintenance it requires(sleep, food). Good Luck.

American here! 👋🏼 I started timed eating 1 month ago and lost 12lbs easily. I eat at 12pm and never eat past 7pm. Two meals a day, low carbohydrate (not no carb) and high healthy fats. I’m 6’1” and weigh (currently 175lbs). I was 187 when the pandemic started. Eating this way makes it extremely easy to reduce calories. It’s very hard only eating twice a day to exceed your daily “recommended” caloric intake. I water fast for 24-36 hours occasionally and I have more energy now than when I was eating the standard American diet. Stop letting food control your life. Let it become an ancillary part of your daily routine and watch how your health improves.

The guy who won the Nobel Prize for work on autophagy is Japanese. Most cultures and religions, including Western ones, have some concept of fasting, with a sense of regeneration and renewal. Oshumi's work shows the mechanism by which low quality or damaged materials in the cell are recycled. After seeing the research, I have gone to intermittent fasting and some extended fasts, with good results. Maybe some people get hung up on race, but when it comes to my health, I just want the best science.

Happy to be 69 without maintenance,..no high bp, no bad cholesterol and trigycerides, not diabetic. When I was young, I ate mostly root crops, bananas and greens. I still love to eat those these days and fast food once a month😊😊😊I sleep a lot when I am tired.

We need reminders like this to overcome the brainwashing about eating three meals a day. Thank you. Yes, our bodies were designed to heal us from within and do so by not over-eating, intermittent fasting, water fasting for longer periods, and not being sedentary but actively moving our body throughout each day 💞

Oh! how i loved this video...not only because it is pure common sense, but it validates how i have been my entire life...when Forced to live the 'usual' way..i got sick..when i got sick..i returned to my normal..and got better..without their drugs or doctors....Life is Spiritual..i dance..it is extreme exercise..every muscle is toned..and i also got a degree in computer science, because my mind is always active...meals? twice a day..many hours apart, maybe 8 i have not counted, and small meals they are, as feeling 'stuffed' is terribly uncomfortable and totally un-necessary..all these things..and so much more, like 2-4 hours sleep..up all night, sleep after sunrise..walking instead of driving or riding anything..mostly so i can be looking deeply at the nature..and whole world around me, feeling every atom of this body as part of it all..universally..sharing consciousness with every living thing, i am aware of all the time..i have done all these things all my life on pure instinct..it was not until just recently that i learned it is a discipline that is taught..Not sure why it is that it is in me, but..there it is.....Very Happy to learn i have been on the Right path! my friends and family say i am spooky or crazy. Thank You Sadhguru. Much Love and Many Blessings

When I first started watching sadhguru I was watching closely! Thinking yogi my butt LoL, probably just a brilliantly clever man who like some people always seem to have an answer for everything. But no way this man is a charlatan! He's a yogi absolutely!!! And if that's a yogi, then WOW!!! No Doubt his teachings have helped so many of us! And what a talker this man is, I can not believe English is his second language. But ofcourse the magic ( he has shown me ) isn't how smooth he is in getting his point across, but the point itself! How grateful I am that in this crazy world, the voice of truth, real commonsense, and real wisdom is a simple click away on our phones! Sadhguru isn't the charlatan, I am mwahahahaha sweet master thank you for shining your blinding love on us, and for being a light for people to follow and emerge once again from the darkness❤️

My friend went to Goya, India and he lost 35 pounds in one month. He said that if I wanted to lose weight, go to India. I used to be vegetarian and I was always happy. Then my doctor told me to eat meat. That’s why I had weight problems in California. Now I’m in Minnesota and I feel much happier as a vegetarian. In Korea they don’t have many fat loss commercials like in America. Obesity is a serious disorder often from broken families and lack of education on nutrition. 😍🐶❤️❤️

I am from the Balkans, from a mountain village, my ancestors were traditional shepherds. They also had small gardens, but they ate a lot of wild vegetables and fruits ... True, they ate cheese, but in moderation ... What I meant to say was my grandparents ate twice a day, in the morning around 10am and in the evening around 6pm. It's not just the Yoga tradition, it's something that all people used to do ... Besides lying down to sleep with the first dark ...

@justice paris They slept with the first darkness because they had no electricity and woke up with the first rays of the sun. That is, they slept longer in winter and shorter in summer. Perhaps the key is that they slept in the dark, without artificial lights, televisions, cell phones, monitors, and in complete silence ...

I've been doing intermittent fasting, which entails going without food for 16 to 26 hours at a time. Since well over a year ago, I've been basing my decisions on how my physical body is feeling and what my intuition tells me. I've managed to shed a little over 30 pounds, and I couldn't be happier about it because I've never been able to lose a significant amount of weight.

Anyone who doesnt believe in the power of fasting would need to experience the reduction in pain level I have in my ankles from inflammation since I started intermittent fasting 18 months ago. My doc just said it was arthritus and there wasnt much I could do about it, that was 3 and a half years ago. After two years in pain I finally gave fasting a go. Results were very fast (no pun)! Most I did was 7 days but mostly two or three days. Its not easy but neither is pain or poor health and if you have will power you will be well able to do it on your own. GL.

i've been fasting for 21 to 40 days 1-2 times per year for more than 2 decades. after a few years, i began to notice the clarity/awareness of mind and a beautiful energy level that i was challenged to effectively describe to others. as the close of my fasts drew near, i began to grieve the anticipated disconnect from these things. ...while i noticed a relationship between my empty stomach and my overall lightness, somehow, i still didn't think they were achievable outside of these long-term fasts. "...INTERMITTENT FASTING" (i.e. recognizing need vs. want). ...for many years, i was certain it was solely about the quality of the food.

This is beautiful and simple advice and amazing that it is not only, not passed down naturally to us, but also it is actually argued against and ridiculed by large chunks of the west. I love looking into the eyes of people that are giving me advice. If they are shining and deep and life is staring back at me, I listen intently. It is amazing how loud and noisy some are in protest, yet their eyes tell us that they are not to be followed. I guess, I would say, look for the spirit, it is always there, but follow those that the spirit is on the surface not hidden back behind a fog. Loving Sadhguru’s messages. 🦄

This makes so much sense as to why I am so productive and my brain is most active in the AM. I wake at Dawn, drink a green drink, take my natural supplements and stay hydrated abs won’t eat a full meal until 12 or after. Most times I’m not even hungry until much later. I typically remind myself to tackle mental tasks while my stomach is emptied. Love the affirmation.

I’m currently in a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics internship In the U.S., and I have two under graduate degrees in Nutrition as-well. Through the whole of my western education in Nutrition, intermittent fasting is demonized in our education system. I have intermittent fasted for two-years now, and I quietly accept the criticism of classmates and professors alike. But I know something they don’t know, intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, but it’s a sustainable lifestyle practice. My body is adjusted and copes with stress, studying, illnesses, and anything thrown at it better than when I was a teenager (well, almost as well). Intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, and it’s not meant to be a short term fix, to truly understand this practice it takes years. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to 3 meals a day, I haven’t had over two-meals in one day since mid 2018. We drown our bodies with food; therefore, it’s hard to hear our body crying out for a simple breath.

Iris Renate On most days I only eat one-meal-a-day (OMAD), usually putting me around 22-23 hour fast. On the other days I fast for at least 16 hours and and anywhere from a 6-8 hour eating window, this is commonly referred to as the 16:8 diet. During my fast I do not eat anything, and only drink coffee and green tea (no sugar, milk, or cream). However some days I add fiber (Metamucil) to my water, I’m not sure if it breaks my fast or not, but fiber is key for gut health, good cholesterol, and disease prevention. To break my fast I eat protein rich meals, protein induced the most satiety (fullness) between meals. Also, your body tends to break down amino acids first during a fast; however, amino breakdown is only temporary. If you were able to do a long term fast, you should try alternative day fasting (ADF). ADF is simply not eating every other day. Some people I know do ADF and combine it with 16:8 or OMAD on their eating days. I hope this helps you!
