I just got a 424 diesel, love the thing, brushhogs great, I cant wait to try it on my haybine, the ol H really struggles with it.

We have 300 utility. Pretty much the same tractor as your 424. Except yours is wearing a fancy dress! Handy little rig. Ours was burning oil and fouling spark plugs. I bought new rings and took the engine apart. Very pitted cylinder walls. Already had new rings. needs sleeves. We are working on our H now. Posed a couple videos yesterday of removing that engine.

I need to rewire mine, grandpa decided it was a good idea to snip a wire harness. I wonder if I could get away with a hot wire situation.

Congratulations on your newest acquisition yes please show the video on wiring have you ever seen somebody put a chainsaw engine on the PTO shaft as a starter I saw a Russian tractor with that exact starting system works pretty good Maybe SHTF situation when you can't find a starter When I was a kid I put a 2 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine on my pickup truck as a starter motor use the air conditioner magnetic clutch to engage Engine it worked very well

I have the same tractor. My wiring is all messed up. I'm wanting to rewire it. Could I see how yours is, because I doubt what's on mine is correct. Also does yours have a 4 pin key switch ?
