You dont HAVE to remove the interior... just disconnect the cab struts jack cab with the airbags 30 minute job, easy!

Does that intake knock sensor run wiring into the main engine wiring harness like I see their???

Do u think the a26 is a good engine as far as reliability

I would say that engine A26 has potential if Navistar put more effort in the quality of their parts. In our fleet few engines had failed, due to the bad quality of the components. If you are looking a reliable truck, for now, in my personal opinion that belongs to Freightliner or Volvo. Perhaps in the future International will build better trucks but for now, they are behind the competition. Thanks for watching.

Ok I was looking at the a26 or the x15 but my brother is a diesel mechanic and he said the x-15s chew up camshafts really bad

@@jram16cummins88 they do. The key thing is to run a quality oil and don't go too long on oil changes. The other thing is use a fuel treatment that cuts the soot. Ive used DPF Remedy ( expensive long term but it does work as advertised ), Turbo Maxx C-4, Pittsburgh Power fuel treat, and No More Friction in the fuel. They all do the same thing, they cut the soot.

I believe that is a daf engine and it was a cab over truck which is why he would be easy to work on in the European countries

476k on my A26, no issues. They might be hard to get to, but what is the failure rate per X number of engines? If a sensor fails rarely, what’s the big deal? It could also be in a poor location to protect against corrosion. If it’s easy to reach for you, it’s easy for corrosion to find it too.
