International Women's Day 2021 #ChooseToChallenge//
For International Women’s Day this year, we’re talking about #Choose To Challenge. If there is one thing 2020 has taught us, it’s that we have to challenge antiquated systems more now than ever.
In 2021, as we think about how we want to live now, we have to challenge convention so we don’t go back to our old definitions of what matters, because they just didn’t work for far too many of us.
We have to challenge the idea that certain groups just need more confidence to get ahead - when the reality is that when they do demonstrate confidence, we label them as bossy, strident and pushy or angry, aggressive and uppity. This inequity is an issue that has huge implications for the workplace and is something I cover in ‘The Con Job: Getting Ahead for Competence in a World Obsessed with Confidence’. #morecompetence
