💻What Is The Internet Computer?💻
When the Internet Computer was founded, it was known as Dfinity, and it sought to take Ethereum’s world computer idea to the next level by becoming, well, the internet computer
The interesting thing about the Internet Computer is that unlike other smart contract cryptocurrencies, the Internet Computer aims to replace the entire internet stack, not just the application layer
⛓How Does The Internet Computer Work?⛓
Users do not need to pay any fees when interacting with canister applications unless it’s something that requires transactions like a decentralized exchange or lending
Another major difference between the Internet Computer and other cryptocurrency blockchains is that you require something called an Internet Identity to interact with applications on the internet computer
⚖The Network Nervous System⚖
The internet computer’s architecture of data centers, nodes, subnets, canisters and users is managed by the Internet Computer’s Network Nervous System or NNS
What’s interesting is that the NNS itself consists of a handful of canisters running on a dedicated subnet
💰 ICP Tokenomics: ICO💰
ICP has an initial supply just short of 470 million tokens and a decreasing inflation rate that starts at 10% per year. About 25% of these tokens were sold to early retail investors
🛠ICP Tokenomics: Use Cases🛠
The ICP token is used for three things: Governance of the Internet Computer via the NNS, to pay for fees to run applications and websites on the Internet Computer, and to reward network participants

ICP has slowly been shedding dollars and took a nasty beating when the crypto market experienced that flash crash a few days ago. This will likely continue as there are not many demand drivers for ICP
📅The Internet Computer Roadmap📅
In January this year, Internet Computer founder Dominic Williams detailed a 20-year roadmap for the project. By 2040, the Internet Computer hopes to be larger than the regular internet
Achieving this on computers is only half the battle, which is why the Dfinity Foundation recently announced its plans for Endorphin, a new operating system for smartphones currently in development
🤔Is The Internet Computer Really A Crypto Project?🤔
The Internet Computer appears to be quite centralized - the Dfinity Foundation hosts the NNS, provides the ‘standardized hardware’ required to run nodes, and seems to have most of the voting power

Guy, would absolutely love a video covering the less centralised alternatives in the space- a stack like filecoin, akash, arweave and coldstack. Really grateful for this vid though, we all really needed a deep dive on this market wildcard!

Yeah, I hadn't heard of ICP when it popped up recently but had heard of Dfinity, so it makes more sense now. The concepts sound pretty complete for web 3.0, but without the open source, decentralisation & accountable governence that just makes it feel like a network capture/walled garden scenario. "internet.org" style. Hopefully they either open up, or we don't get mass adoption on that chain. I'll stick to backing Filecoin/ipfs or storj combined with some of the compute renting projects... ...for now.

Corrections to some of the factual mistakes I noticed: - the consensus mechanism doesn't involve nodes staking ICP; - one can create as many Internet Identities as they wish; - Internet Identity code is opensourced. Also, one key point I didn't hear being mentioned is that ICP holders are actively incentivized to vote for the good of the Internet Computer, otherwise their locked tokens lose in value. We saw recently how changes in narrative can hurt the value of even something like Bitcoin, and none of the token holders would like to see that happen to the project they're invested in. Finally, there are currently around 60 projects building on the IC, some of them like OpenChat, DSCVR and Waterslide already running on the mainnet.

New info leaked. The crash was intentionally caused by FTX and SBF, they sabotaged ICP from the start. Watch latest Bitboy interview with ICP CEO. ICP has filed a lawsuit. ICP had absolutely no control over price, it was pure sabotage and manipulation because ICP was a threat to FTX's projects.

I thought based on the title of the video this would be a promising investment opportunity in some new tech. While that is certainly the case, it has too much potential for enslaving us all. Hi there, Hans here (from the SDK team). Just a clarification that the "Internet Identity" is not mandatory. It's more like an OAuth provider; website can choose another provider if they want to, and they can manage identity. There is no requirement for using the Internet Identity services.

Agreed. It is the future of the internet. All the dapps are open source and the entire thing is a DAO. It’s already more advanced… check out proof of personhood ICP. Any website can integrate these open source apps, it all works together in a unified way.

2k late December 2021. People are bearish because this is their first time they got in early. Why do you ask? Well in case that you didn't knew, BTC will merge with ICP and later ETH. In the next years more coins will follow because the internet we use today isn't safe (AI wars). ICP will be pumped to 2k to change the public sentiment, after the 2k mark the retail will fomo hard, and by 2027 you can expect 30k per ICP. Fell free to laugh like you laughed at BTC 8 years ago. Unfortunately the common people fall for the psychological games and only see value after pumps.

Yep, never thought I'd see such an elaborate self-defeating project with regards to its core aim of being "decentralized". Either the founders lost the plot or they were simply using decentralization as a buzzword to disarm the unsuspecting.

There's not been any collusion orchestrated by the big tech companies currently controlling the internet. The world does not need the ICP alternative. The current setup is far more decentralized than this proposal. At least theirs a semblance of checks and balances due to the big tech companies independence from one another. ICP plans to topple all of them and control the world.
