It's a subtle thing, but something about the alternating lengths of time leaving the hi-hat open during the pre-chorus makes it really fun to play. The first one gets closed down after an 1/8, while the next one is kept open for a full 1/4. Great cover, by the way. Hope you don't mind I study this to learn it myself!
