As a substance abuse counselor on Oahu, this is highly unethical. This isn't current. If I were her, I'd start legal action. Do you even know her current condition? No? You might want to follow up and investigate. This is potentially life ruination, and you should be held accountable. Sure, she might have signed a contract, but this doesn't make it right. Is she in recovery? Sober? Why release this again now?

I heard someone once say “it takes 30 days to make something a regular routine in your life, but it has to be done everyday for those 30 days” and that always sticks with me!!!!
@jollymollyramram970224 күн бұрын
It varies but science says about 2 months for it to become automatic. It’s important to those who at day 30 haven’t felt a real change when it may start there. Re-wiring the brain take time. But doing that particular thing you want to implement along with other things is good. Driving a new route to work, brushing teeth with the opposite hand, go for a walk after dinner if you usually don’t, read a book yes a real paper book if you’re always on a device etc
@amez298722 күн бұрын
Not if you're an alcoholic. You could not drink for 30 days and relapse on day 31. It's not like breaking a "bad habit" or starting a new good habit.
@archelez341419 күн бұрын
I’m an alcoholic and when I went into AA I was told I had to go to 90 meetings in 90 days because it takes 90 days to create a habit. I ended up going everyday for 6 months and now I’m 8 years sober.
@jollymollyramram970218 күн бұрын
@amez2987. I think for some it probably will be a daily struggle for years or forever. But addicts still need to aquire new habits if life has centered around drinking. Of course it takes healing the root cause as much as possible but staying stuck in traumatic experiences can’t be good either. The wounds are there and may occasionally need to be tended to but other than that it’s about learning how to live and not expect to never encounter problems, just dealing with them differently😊

Mentally physically, emotionally Bc of my addiction, I gave my son to his father to take care of. I was not stable at all. I wanted him to have a good upbringing and have some discipline. That backfired. My ex basically turned him against me. I know it’s not my son , it’s all his father’s doing. He is now 19. Hopefully soon he will contact me. I pray he does. I watch these videos every so often, and my question is how on earth do they not know they are on 'Intervention '? You have a TV crew, you are being interviewed, etc. What do they think they are being interviewed for? This show is not new. JA

To see her becoming an alcoholic just like her own mother, becoming the very thing she feared growing up, is quite sad.

Family. You don’t get to pick your family. When you’re an adult you don’t associate with family anymore. You can move to a place far away from them and enjoy your peace and life

The Concrete Confessional blog guy just dropped a piece on the ethics of filming people while they're this f*cked up... A lot of keyboard warrior drama over it, but it was pretty balanced IMO

Just don't touch the stuff to begin with. I grew up with people who drank and never touched the stuff. I have no desire to. If you don't start, you will not have the issue.
