As a substance abuse counselor on Oahu, this is highly unethical. This isn't current. If I were her, I'd start legal action. Do you even know her current condition? No? You might want to follow up and investigate. This is potentially life ruination, and you should be held accountable. Sure, she might have signed a contract, but this doesn't make it right. Is she in recovery? Sober? Why release this again now?

I heard someone once say “it takes 30 days to make something a regular routine in your life, but it has to be done everyday for those 30 days” and that always sticks with me!!!!
@jollymollyramram9702
@jollymollyramram9702 24 күн бұрын
It varies but science says about 2 months for it to become automatic. It’s important to those who at day 30 haven’t felt a real change when it may start there. Re-wiring the brain take time. But doing that particular thing you want to implement along with other things is good. Driving a new route to work, brushing teeth with the opposite hand, go for a walk after dinner if you usually don’t, read a book yes a real paper book if you’re always on a device etc
@amez2987
@amez2987 22 күн бұрын
Not if you're an alcoholic. You could not drink for 30 days and relapse on day 31. It's not like breaking a "bad habit" or starting a new good habit.

I’m an alcoholic and when I went into AA I was told I had to go to 90 meetings in 90 days because it takes 90 days to create a habit. I ended up going everyday for 6 months and now I’m 8 years sober.

@amez2987. I think for some it probably will be a daily struggle for years or forever. But addicts still need to aquire new habits if life has centered around drinking. Of course it takes healing the root cause as much as possible but staying stuck in traumatic experiences can’t be good either. The wounds are there and may occasionally need to be tended to but other than that it’s about learning how to live and not expect to never encounter problems, just dealing with them differently😊

When I saw "up to 12 beers a day", of course I was thinking, that's a lot of 12oz beers to drink every day... But they were 24oz cans!!! Good for her and the family that she not only made it through the treatment, but she never went down that path again.

That’s a lot of liquid. I’m surprised she’s not fatter with all those empty calories, beer is made from wheat it’s like drinking bread basically. Like just drink liquor at that point it’s cheaper with the number of beers she is drinking it’ll be cheaper and get the job done quicker

She probably had felt betrayed when her sons left with the man that had caused her so much pain… I know I would be hurt and furious.. she needed to talk to someone to work things through.. therapy with a good counsellor helped me out of my misery. I used to drive everyone around me away and chose substances because its easier than talking and expressing my true feelings, cause I thought no one would get it or they should know to read me…. counsellors and psychologists helped me see things and work through those issues… I am glad I got out of it and I pray she will too ❤ and to anyone out there going through life’s pain and problems ❤

Mentally physically, emotionally Bc of my addiction, I gave my son to his father to take care of. I was not stable at all. I wanted him to have a good upbringing and have some discipline. That backfired. My ex basically turned him against me. I know it’s not my son , it’s all his father’s doing. He is now 19. Hopefully soon he will contact me. I pray he does. He’s my only baby ❤❤❤ there’s not one day that I don’t cry for him. I made mistakes but to get this punishment? After all I’ve been through? How evil and cruel .

Statistically six people a day die from alcohol poisoning. I have personally known four people die of alcohol poisoning. The closest was my youngest brother at the young age of 38. I think that a person should only be able to buy three 12 oz beers a day. After your license is scanned it keeps track of the remainder of your alcohol.

My mom, my step dad, my birth dad, my oder brother, and three deceased younger brothers were all alcoholics. Only my older brother,(on the wagon for years) is still alive. The three younger brothers died of being in their "Beer Belly Crew" and being "poorly educated". Why am I not an alcoholic? Don't want to live like them. Didn't go home for holidays. lol Serious drama.

@@pohakumana4288 It sounds like you've endured a lot within your family, and I commend you for breaking away from that cycle. Choosing not to follow in their footsteps takes immense strength and determination. Your resolve to live differently despite the challenges is truly admirable. It's okay to distance yourself from toxic environments, especially when it's for the sake of your own well-being. Your decision to prioritize your own path is something to be proud of.
