Great performer, but also an amazingly delightful person as well, to a degree which is rare. Love her as a person. Love her art. May she be blessed with many more years of the ability to give great performances. May her personal life be filled with joy and exhilaration, and peace and tranquility of spirit. She is an inspiration. Brava Annya.

This babe not only can sing but she can act..pure and innocent if she wants, sexy and snappy at other times. With Rolando Villazon she is like a very attractive pal. He laugh is wonderful! She even shines on the radio. I think she will be one of the greatest opera singers ever.

Wow, great to hear from the vocal coach - because she has helped produce one of the greatest singers of all time. Thanks.

She is the un-diva of our generation. Beautiful, captivating, whimsical, and probably the most talented, innovative artist to come along in many, many years. Her Boheme with Becsala was almost unbearable to watch because she was so human and moving, and the music is ideal for her voice. I think she is very, very special.

I saw Anna today as Tatyana at the Met. Renee interviewed her, but Anna said, "Renee, you were the best Tatyana!" Even Fleming was very surprised to hear this compliment.

Anna was the female poster star of the opening production of the season at the New York Met for six out of seven years in a row - both the opening stage premiere and the first live in HD broadcasts to cinema theatres - these were mostly the same productions, The first of the run would have been Donizetti's Anna Bolena, in 2012 - my mother went to see it at the local cinema theatre (in southern Sweden) and was absolutely blown away by this amazing singer. I knew her by name at the time, had heard a few recordings, but had not quite realized how great she was, but I later got hold of the dvd of basically the same production of the opera from Vienna, We soon became big fans of Anna and the equally great Dmitry Hvorostovsky. Anna opened every season at the Met from 20212-13 to 2018-19, with the exception of 2017 - she was scheduled to have sung Norma at that point in October 2017, but this difficult high-range part proved too hard for her and Sondra Radvanovsky took over, delivering a great performance too. The same year, in the spring of 2017, she was scheduled to sing Tatiana again, te same one you're referring to - we saw that performance too, me, my mother and brother (i mean, we saw practically every opera she was featured in during those years). It was intended that Hvorostovsky was to sing Eugene Onegin that night, but he was too ill to be able to do it (he would pass away in late 2017) and the great Swedish barytone Peter Mattei took over - also assuring a great night. Her final season opener at the Met was in late 2018 with Aida. I think she was scheduled to sing Tosca in April-May 2020, but those nights were cancelled of course due to the pandemic, and when the theatre finally returned to fully public opera performances in late 2021 there was new trouble around the corner which would end her career in the USA. :( She's a wonderful singer and actress, one of the very greatest leading ladies in opera of the first twenty years of this century.

A great documentary about great people. I was wondering who the person in one of the photos during Tosca rehearsals at Mariinsky. Now I know it was her voice coach. Ta.

As tiny as gold dust you will be found in Sahara Desert with her background as Netrebko was born in Krasnodar (Russia), in a family of Kuban Cossack background.[1] While a student at the Saint Petersburg conservatoire, Netrebko worked as a janitor at Saint Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre.

I don’t know what I was thinking I was bursting into tears when I heard opera I’m really sorry sir but now I’m not bursting into tears anymore I have felt relaxed and is there another page nope that’s that’s it
I love Anna Netrebko. She is the greatest opera diva that I can remember! Her singing of the Csardas Furstin does not sound right to me though. It is too serious and operistic. This is an operetta with energy, easiness and joy. I miss this from her interpretation. I prefer this song performed by Hungarian artists, Szilvia Ralik for example. I know Anna could do this differently, and I think she should do it differently.
