The way clinical trials are conducted in the European Union has changed significantly since the Clinical Trials Regulation No. 536/2014 came into force on January 2022. The regulation harmonizes the submission, assessment and monitoring procedures for clinical trials in the EU via the Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS).
