Loved it. Very interesting. Egyptology is still a fascinating subject. Dr. Joyce T. comes across as charming and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed this very much. Thanks!

great podcast, cant believe i only found it just now - am Egyptian btw and thank you for ur work and ur respect too. Just an idea (although maybe you have done this before), i think it would be cool to compile and talk about all that was lost to lake Nasser (i know abu simbel and philae have their orignal foundations underwater, as well as a mud fort that you had talked about which is now probably completely gone, but i was wondering what else has been lost)

That was wonderful. Thanks for letting the guest talk I often find some interviews fall in love with the sound of their own voice. You do a fantastic job of posing thoughtful queries and let the interviewee espouse their thoughts in full 🌝

To take possession of another nation's national relics and give them out as gifts to your friends is simply not kosher, no matter what era you're living in (especially when one proclaimed oneself to belong to the "civilized" class.) For Lord Carnavon to think he could have claimed half of the tomb's loot speaks to his sky-high arrogance. So let's not beat around the bush, shall we? For Carter, he should have returned the items to Egypt, no matter how they "came" to him in the first place.
